MONDAY HIGHLIGHTS
I had to watch a 19-year-old dude push the weights around like they were Lincoln Logs this morning. He is going to try to “walk on at UAB this fall for football. He is not that big but he is an animal. He is a great kid and I wish him all the best … he just does not need to be in the gym while I am there.
Today was chest, triceps and delts. The only thing I changed from last week was I swapped out the Pec Dec for DB flyes. I plan on alternating these exercises each week. I was able to increase the weight on just about all my exercises today, which made me feel good.
Tomorrow is Treadmill Tuesday and I will be doing the Maniac program. I had decided to incorporate abs into the cardio days. I will do my ab work prior to getting on the treadmill.

Wow that is excellent increasing your weights in every excercise. Good work. Most people so the same weights day in and day out and cannot figure out why they are not changing. Isn’t that the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Anyway it is also good to see that you are swapping excercises too. Pec dec and flyes work the same muscle in the same way but the differences are important as well. So this is a good mix of doing one then the other. Good work. I think you are getting the hang of this extremly quickly. That football player better watch out or you’ll be showing him a thing or two. Keep it up.

I enjoy the pec dec over flyes just for the simple reason I injured a pec in high school doing flyes and have been gun shy ever since. I do them now - but am a little more cautious.
PS - the football player does not have anything to worry about - right now:)

I had the same injury and am a little shy around them too. It’s good to be more careful. We are not as young as the football star anymore. But we can still look good if we try.
