Friends, Family and Associates
I just competed in the 2009 NPC Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh PA last week. The entry was record breaking in all classes over all with a total entry of 405. I competed in the over 50 class. Although my placement was lacking this year compared to last, I’m still pleased to with what I presented and what I delivered. Open the attachment and you can see a pic from the show.
I placed 7th. I’m going to continue to train this year, yet I’m not planning on competing for this next year as other priorities in my life are more present at this time. Next summer I may consider what opportunities lie ahead in the competition realm if any.
When I was 51 years old and chose to compete, I said I was going to give 4 year to this sport with a goal to compete in Masters Nationals and at 55 would stop. I have done that and passed all my dreams and went further then I expected I would ever go!
I would like to thank all that have so graciously supported me and given their support. You all have no idea how much it has meant to me over the years!
It is time to “give back” what I have received and have been blessed with in this sport of bodybuilding. Family being the most important, my faith, friends and business.
I have been blessed with great friends, family, trainers and coaches! To all of you, thank you and God bless you all in all your goals and aspirations.
Best to you all. ed, aka Popps, Ol Supe, Dad.

You may be hanging up your posing trunks, but I’m gonna guess that your gym bag will still get lots of use!

Hey Ed, just started reading your blogs, buddy. I am struck by the honesty and openness. Hope the emotional roller coaster and personal relationships have worked out, although throughout life they continue to be a challenge. I see lifetime relationships wilt, yet spring back when given time together, the relationships build on a reason or a season tend to lag and never are as strong. Once stung by the bbing bug it is hard to go a week with no workouts, so hang in there and keep leading on, Peace, Rich

Congratulations on every thing you have accomplished. Until I started reading your blogs seeing the great shape you are in, and hearing that you surpast your goals gives inspiration to many people. I am one who thought I was to far in age to change but I see now with hard work and dedication I can reach my goals. Thanks for inspiring people like me that you never even met.

I don’t get jealous often, but after seeing your pictures, I’m very jealous. I’m 22 years younger than you, and you are amazing. thank you for the inspiration. I started working out 9 months ago, and read your "patience" blog and realize, 9 months is nothing in the big picture of training and nutrition. I will stick with it, and one day I hope I’m no longer jealous of how awesome you look, because I will look just as awesome.
