Friends, Family and Associates

Monday, July 20th, 2009
I just competed in the 2009 NPC Masters Nationals in Pittsburgh PA last week. The entry was record breaking in all classes over all with a total entry of 405. I competed in the over 50 class. Although my placement was lacking this year compared to last, I’m still pleased to with what I presented and what I delivered. Open the attachment and you can see a pic from the show.
I placed 7th. I’m going to continue to train this year, yet I’m not planning on competing for this next year as other priorities in my life are more present at this time. Next summer I may consider what opportunities lie ahead in the competition realm if any.
When I was 51 years old and chose to compete, I said I was going to give 4 year to this sport with a goal to compete in Masters Nationals and at 55 would stop. I have done that and passed all my dreams and went further then I expected I would ever go!
I would like to thank all that have so graciously supported me and given their support. You all have no idea how much it has meant to me over the years!
It is time to “give back” what I have received and have been blessed with in this sport of bodybuilding. Family being the most important, my faith, friends and business.
I have been blessed with great friends, family, trainers and coaches! To all of you, thank you and God bless you all in all your goals and aspirations.
Best to you all. ed, aka Popps, Ol Supe, Dad.

ADVERSITY

<label id=”pBlogSubject_499095891″>Adversity

It’s been quite a year! I’m getting ready to attend the biggest bbing comp of my life and all kinds of crap hits the fan! I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster the last 10 days for some things I’ve created, and some things the universe just placed infront of me without warning. It isn’t the first time or the last time I’ve faced selfmade adversity as most adversity is self created.

Self created or not, it is all for our leaning and growing of the soul. We must know pain and suffering if we are to ever appricaite and covet the times of peace and harmony in our lives. After we have weathered the storms of adversity, we are stronger and wiser. If we remain weak, and all will fall weak often in order to grow and learn, then we will suffer more untill we lean all we need to to go forward in power, strength, wisdom and light.

Nothing feels better then to walk from darkness into the light. There still will be the residue of pain and sorrow, yet the burnden will be lighten by the light of truth we have learned from the experiance.

Many times relationships get damaged in the process of our learning. If we’re lucky, the offended will forgive quickly and forget. Yet mostly time will be needed for repair. It can be heart breaking for most involved, yet there is always hope that in time the hearts will heal and love will over come the pain.

Love is the great healer. Unconditional love is the greatest love expressed. It means love without conditions. Love without strings.

One of my favoite peoms expresses this.

“Oh the comfort!
The indiscribable comfort of feeling safe with a person.
Neither having to weigh thought, nor measure words,
Pooring them all out just as they are!
Shaft and grain together!
Knowing that sure hand will take them,
And sift them!
And with a breath of kindness,
Blow the rest away.”
