Strength seems like its coming back slowly, weight is 132.8 lbs on my scale this am. My trainers scale is about 3lbs off from mine.

January 22, 2008Met with my personal trainer in Cinci, OH and found out I am 14.4% bf weight is 137lbs. Yep, lost some strength not too bad but my lean mass is only around 118LM. Used to be around 123-125LM. My diet is now around 1900-2000 cals. The date for the show is April 18th, 19th a two day show.
I am pondering the show in April. I really want to do it however, I just learned how to spray tan and really want the exposure spraying the competitors. The promoter’s do not have anyone set up for the venue to spray. I just am unsure of what to do? I really want to compete, however the spray tanning competitors is a good financial move. BLAH!! Why is this soo hard.

Jan 2008 Finally Over
January 6, 2008Thank god x-mas, holidays are over. My husband came home we have had several parties with appetizers and such. I am soo sick and tired of the holidays, food etc… Finally its focus and rest time. I see my trainer on 1-18-08. I will heading to the Cincy area for the weekend. My original trainer is in cincy, I absoulutely would not do with out him. He is my friend, tells me like it is. I am going to have my numbers bf checked, and do a work out to make sure I’m working as hard as I should. I’ve been working out solo lately. We all know we don’t work quite as hard by ourselveves than with someone else. This is my challenge, I lost quite a bit of strength after my move back in November and had a tough time getting back on it.
As of now I moved off my fish diet, I’ve been on it for a long while. If I see another piece of fish I just might lose it. I went back up to my 2000 calorie diet verses the 1800 calories fish diet. I will then get back on the fish diet later. My body needs to cycle and change up a little I think before I hit the fish hard. The prep begins. I hope i’m not too off on my bf!!

Christmas Day!
December 25, 2007The countdown is on. I think I finally decided to try a INBF show in April 19, 2008. This is a pro-qualifier. At least if I don’t get my pro-card at this show I will still compete in the NPC late May 2008. I want to use the show in April as a platform for end of May. I am not sure what I will do if… regarding the INBF vs. the NPC. The show in May for the NPC is a non tested show verses the INBF is a tested show. I might have a chance to do better at a tested show verses a non tested show. Plus, there is the Gold’s classic around September time frame.
Holiday Cookies!!
December 21, 2007Let’s just say last night was not a good night. I got into the cookies again!! Geesh! Good thing I’m not seeing my trainer till mid January. I can not stand the Holiday’s due to these reasons cookies, food and more food. You see all the good stuff that you normally don’t eat then, it sneaks up on you and attacks full force. Luckily, my mind is straight. I threw all the cookies in the freezer so that when my son wants one he can get it out and have it. This way they are out of sight and out of mind! Let’s hope I don’t have too many more issues with holiday treats.
The countdown is on for my husband to come home. 7 days and counting down. Yay!! I have been low key regarding my feelings just because I did not want to get my hopes up. Anything can happen in Iraq. He now officially does not have to drive off post anymore, which means the risk of being blown up is very slim. Now don’t get me wrong I sound pretty hard with the way I’m writing but its the truth. He has been blown up before with an IED, and thank god he was safe and had no damage that was done to himself and others that were with him. So I speak reality. The main key is to get him home safely. Which we still have a helicopter ride back to kuwait, fingers are crossed that it goes as planned. When he comes home we will have 30days before he goes TDY again. That, for the peeps that doesn’t know military lingo is a short term non deployment. It means that he leaves for another 4 months to attend school in Arizona. We just came back from there 1year ago. You would have thought that they would have given us more time together since he is just getting back from a 12 mo deployment with an additional time away of 3mo prior to train up before deploying. It SUCKS!! Never the less we are at the military’s mercy.
Holidays!!!
December 19, 2007I’m still here and kicking. I just moved to the N. KC area from Ohio on the 1st of Nov. It sucked trying to keep the diet and exercise going when your not in your normal groove although I’m holding strong. I’ve had some week moments here and there with the holidays. I’m still on the fish diet. Blah!!
My husband is coming home from his deployment from Iraq this month is about 7 days. Its been since 9-06 since he’s been gone with a brief R&R visit back in May.
I’m still pluggin away I am currently in off season mode but trying to keep close as I can from competition weight. I’m about 5 lbs off, not sure about the bf. I keep calipers on hand for measurements however, i am not too good with them just yet. I am trying to get my back and lats more size. With being off my diet with the move has put my strength down the tube. I’m just now where i was when I left off before the comp. So I’m hoping I didn’t lose alot of mass there with the few weeks of non normalcy.
Picture wise I can still get my ass into my comp 2-piece so at least that is good. My ass isn’t eating it yet.
Well off I go to the gym and to get this done and then back to shopping. Did I mention, I absolutely do not like the holidays. It sucks when your on your DIET!! But, then again it keeps you from blowing up like a balloon.

August 13, 2007The countdown is on…..I’m still plugging away at my bf. I just did my first week of 3 days low carb and 4th day Hi carb cycling. I did pretty well, I dropped weight down to 136.5lbs still maintaining about 10.7%bf although I was in the middle of my low carb days so my weight was a little lower than it would have been on my hi day. So I would have to say my weight is around 1-2lbs higher on carb up days plus I may be a little dehydrated too. I am sticking to the low/hi carb days for one more week than its will probably change to fish, fish, and more fish if my bf doesn’t go down anymore.
It’s all a learning process this time competing is completely different than last time. The weather is different from cold to now scorching hot, humid days. So I’m holding onto my h2o than last time. Plus, my cals were so low and my bf was a lot higher 5wks out we increased cals to 1900 and leaned out from there on my last show. Keeping my weight 128lbs and dropping from 15%-8.8% bf in 5 wks. This time I’m hoping I stay tighter longer just for a better tighter look.
I’m using this National Qualifier as a stepping stone to my next comp just 4wks after to kick some serious ASS!! I should be freaking awesome holding my bf so low for a longer period of time. Don’t let me fool you I still want to win this one in September but I am going up against some very stiff and tuff competitors that are seasoned in the industry.
Right now my triceps are getting a little big for the liking per my trainer. So we are keeping a close eye on them. We may have to take out the dips if they get any bigger. I am not even working them (isolated movements).
I am currently doing alot of dips, low incline bench press to bring my chest up a bit. My shoulders are followed with chest front presses, lateral raises to help build them a little more. My back starts out with lat pulldowns wide grip, one arm rows w/db’s, close grip low rows. My legs we are trying to build the hamstrings so I do 5-6sets of ham curls on back day and alternate between field sprints and bleachers.
Cardio has been upped to 3xweek 30min sessions.
Last night was the first night I was hungry before I went to bed. I ended up having 1/2cp ff cottage before bed to help. I was told that is a no, no…..the worst is about to come…..the question is "how bad do I want this"….I’m going to keep diggin in "I WANT THIS!!"
