About My Blog

i have created this blog mainly to help me reach my goals, it helps me to enter what i am doing physically and then i can look back at where i have come from and see where i am going. i decided in december 2003 that i needed to make some changes in my lifestyle, due to the fact that i was sick with pneumonia and i weighed 262 lbs. i hooked up with a friend of mine, and he and i started working out 5 nights a week, with my focus split between losing weight and gaining muscle. by april 2004, i was down to 227 lbs., and then i decided to try putting on some muscle, even though i was still too fat. this was a mistake, sort of. i was back to 262 lbs. in less than a year, but my chest was 4 inches bigger than it was the last time i weighed that, so i knew that the weight was distributed much differently. i continued to workout with no clear goals until september 2006. at that time, i decided to focus on weight loss, while still lifting 2 nights a week to minimize muscle loss. and here i am at 208 lbs. now, and still going strong. my initial goal was to be at 200 lbs. by my birthday in may 2007, and i am going to surpass that goal real soon. when i reach 200 lbs., i will set a new goal, most likely 180 lbs., by fall of 2007. i will not stop with the weight loss until i am satisfied with what i see in the mirror. it is very easy to get sucked in to the muscle gaining scene with big dreams of being the biggest guy at the gym, but i will not allow myself to worry about being the biggest guy anymore, it is all about being lean and healthy right now. i would like to thank all of you for your support, it is most definitely appreciated.
