10 reasons to stop procrastinating

February 9, 2010

1.

week 3 Monday

February 8, 2010

It was a decent workout but I got tired fast. Almost over the cold. Sill recovering from last Wednesday’s workout. Lat’s and forearms are still a little sore.

The decline bench machine was unusually popular today. So I ended up doin it like 4th instead of first but that’s okay.
Incline press (machine): 90×15  90×6  70×12

Close grip bench press: 45×15  65×15  65×12

Flat dumbbell press: 20×15  20×15  20×15  20×15

Decline bench press(machine):40×15  90×15  90×6  70×12
Single reverse extensions(cable): 40×15  40×12  40×5  30×11

Skull crushers: 25×15  25×15  25×12

Crunches(weighted): 25×80  25×30 ….ran out of time

Have a great day!

No, your not imagining things…

February 6, 2010

Yep,I changed my name. I like it better when I’m called by my name (Ginger) and when I first joined I never expected to interact or communicate with anyone here so I just used an old standby (nuttyme)…and the 575 is simply May ‘75…although if you see the user name and think of the Ferrari 575, well…I could live with that. :)

Friday, 2nd week 2

February 5, 2010

Legs, shoulders, and abs…Done!

I’ve got that cold that everyone has been passing around. Feel like hell. Totally blew off my morning cardio. I was awake on time but I just sat there on the couch with a cup of coffee, watching Blue’s Clues…wishing that Steve would skidoo out of the tv and bring me another cup of coffee…but he didn’t…so I got up to take a shower thinking that a nice hot shower would help me to feel more human but NO…no hot shower! Just slightly above room temp shower.Grrr…but I was plenty awake after that.

It was a decent workout but I got tired fast.
Now I’m gonna go lay in the floor and pray for someone to cover me with a heap of hydrocollator packs(not gonna happen)….or grant me 3 wishes….hmm, I’ll take a sauna….um, a 2 hr massage (I’d probably sleep though the last 1 1/2 hrs of it,though)…and a Chinese medicine practitioner with an arsenal of the little glass cups and some acupuncture needles and Tui Na skills. That’s all… :)

2nd week 2 Wednsday

February 4, 2010

Good workout. Back, biceps, calves. Did some deadlifts before I went home. Much better!

I got to the gym much later than usual. Car issues.

Does anyone else dislike working biceps?…or have trouble with their elbows after/during preacher curls?

common sense (funny but off topic)

February 3, 2010

This is stolen from one of my Facebook friends.

"Common sense is so rare that it has been elevated to the level of a super power. ‘Shhh! - My common Sense is tingling! Something ordinary is slightly amiss!’"

week 2 officially back on schedule

February 2, 2010

Made it to the gym today. It was so good to get out of the house after being home since Thursday night. Can you say cabin fever? Okay it wasn’t that bad.Still it was good to get out.

I did Friday and Monday’s workouts today. It’s funny to see those big spikes on the chart after logging 2 workouts into 1 on the workout tracker thing.

Squats are looking better.

I’ve started aiming for 15 reps instead of 12. You wouldn’t think that 3 reps would make so much difference. The first set goes pretty good but the other 2 really suffer at this point.
It feels good to be back on schedule with the workouts.

Doing pretty good with the diet…still needs to be tweaked a bit.

Have a great day everybody! I totally intend to.

Blog Entry

January 31, 2010

So, I finally got the shoulder part of Friday’s workout done Saturday afternoon. I didn’t get the car thawed out enough to get that other water jug but I did find some three liter juice bottles in the garage…looks like alot of weight but it’s not. Only about 7 lbs…but it was good enough. Looks like I’ll be doing Monday’s workout at home too. That means push-ups and lots of bench dips…and maybe some extra cardio if the kids cooperate. I get on the treadmill and it’s like their signal to get into stuff.
I think I’m going to postpone week 2 until I can get back to the gym and just do the best I can at home until then. At least I’m getting some housework done.

Eating the last two or three days has been close to perfect. I can’t wait until I’ve done it long enough for it to be a habit.

I finally tried putting a scoop of protein powder in my oatmeal this morning. About 1/2 dry oatmeal, mixed with one scoop protein powder, about 1/3 cup chopped apple, lots of cinnamon added hot water and 2T. ground flax seed. Not bad. I hardly noticed the protein.I might even do it again sometime soon. :)

As always, thanks to everybody for all the support and encouragement.

workout at home today

January 29, 2010

It’s icy. I haven’t gone anywhere. I attempted to do my workout at home legs and abs went okay (I found the supine stability ball leg curls rather challenging.)but my attempt at doing the shoulders was sub par. I didn’t use enough weight. Not about to go dig the bricks out of the ice, especially since I don’t know exactly where they are.I guess I could have used a couple 1 gal water jugs, but the other one is in the trunk of the car and also involves ice removal…ok, I guess I’m just making excuses. I’ll try shoulders again tomorrow. No, I don’t have any dumbbells or resistance bands. Yes, it’s on my list.

I did learn something. I was doing squats with no weight and really trying to pay attention to form and I think I found something else contributing to my knee issues. Still just a theory though.

just thinking

January 27, 2010

I know…thinking tends to get me into trouble, but anyway…
I don’t usually pay too much attention to the volume of my workouts but just for kicks I thought I would compare round 1/week 1/day1 to round 2/week 1/day 1…SO…

round 1/ week 1/ day 1 : 8,210 lbs

round 2/ week 1/ day 1 : 13,325 lbs

at first I thought…"wow, cool." then I got to thinking…I don’t really know if that is as good as it should be or not…I’m still pretty much a noob ya know…or maybe it’s one of those things that it’s neither good or bad, it just is.

okay, now here is where thinking too much gets me into trouble…I was reading some stuff and I got to thinking…wouldn’t it be awesome  if I could switch places with my body weight and my bench, to make my body weight 155 lbs and my bench 200+ lbs ? Okay, I know at this point that’s not at all realistic but I do find it to be entertaining. Disturbing, I know.
…and just in case anyone is curious…the diet is doing better but still needs to be better.

I’ve started putting 2T. ground flax seed in my oatmeal to increase my EFA intake. Did you know that 2T. of flax seed has 3 grams of protein ?

Tried the berries in the oatmeal…that helped a lot. Thanks. Um, not gonna put protein powder in it just yet…but only because I don’t really like the taste of my current protein powder. I really like the idea though.

Later. Stay warm. Don’t be shoveling snow to failure unless you just have to.
