I’m thinking 5 more pounds…

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

This past week I lost five pounds from 160 to 155.  I think I am going to shoot for 5 more in the next two weeks. Anyone know why I might be doing this???

 Times up…

THE ARNOLD IS IN TWO WEEKS!!!!!!  :)

Gotta look good for it, right.

GIMME A HELL YEAH!!!!!!

Saturday, January 19th, 2008

For those of you who have followed my journal and body blog, you know that I have not gone over 205 on the bench for over a year and a half now. Because I was always contest dieting and training.  Today I did 3 warm up sets with 135 then put 225 on. I asked a guy at the gym for a spot.

 I GOT 7 REPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was STOKED.

Now I think I can make my goal of 10 reps of 225 by June. :)

Great back and tri day

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Today I decided to incorporate deadlifts with my back training.

275lbs deads for reps, It felt GREAT!!! I am hoping that I will get back to 315 for reps soon. I also did domething that I have not done in a looong time. I measured my arms and was pleased to see 16 1/8" Hell maybe tomorrow I will measure everything and keep track of my progress this year through my "bulking" year. Yeah thats right Mc Skillet Burritos are going in my tummy. :) For years of dieting clean all the time I would have NEVER imagined me eating a McDonalds breakfast. DAM I have been missing out on life. lol Well it won’t last long I will only be eating like this for a few more weeks then back to a "clean bulk" BUT I will enjopy for now!

Powerhouse Disappointment

Monday, December 31st, 2007

I posted this in the 035 forum also. I just need to vent it out on my blog as well.

A Powerhouse gym opend up a few weeks ago. It is really close to my house.
Today I was able to go check it out. I saw in front introductory membership $19 a month. I thought WHOOO HOOOO! I walked in and they had me fill out a questionnaire. Then the 30 second tour.  Next thing I know I’m sitting in an office where the dude is trying to sell me the membership. I felt like I was being treated as if it were a membership to a "corporate health club"
Man it was like 2 benches, 1 incline, 1 power rack, 2 smith machines, only a few Hammer Strength thats about it? But they did have dumbells that went up to 150 pounds. I can not bring myself to get the membership when my "club" that I go to has just as much free weights and tons more cardio equipment…

Just when I thought I would be working out at a "REAL GYM" my heart gets ripped out.

My switch is ON/OFF only

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Due to uncontrollable circumstances the past week, I had to miss the gym.  I posted earlier today that I was going to do legs at a "medium" weight today. Then go Totally full go starting this weekend. I started my workout then next thing I knew I was at my FULL GO weights. Man I am gonna feel this shit tomorrow for sure. :)   I guess there is NO half ass in my blood at all. GO BIG OR STAY HOME! Right? ;)

Note to self

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Now that life is back to "normal" I am able to hit the gym tonight. I think it will be best to hit the weights at a medium weight. Some Leg presses, extensions, curls and calves. Once this weekend gets here I should be ready to GO ALL OUT FULL THROTTLE!

What a long day

Wednesday, December 19th, 2007

My son had surgery today and it was said to be 2 1/2 hours.
First of all they said to be there at 8 am and not to let him eat 2 hours prior.
We finally ge into the prep room at 10 am. Now my son is getting hungry and irritable. At noon they finally come and take him to the surgery room.
3 hours went by and nothing. 3pm
3 1/2 hours still noting.
4 hours we finally got a hold of a nurse and they said things were going good.
4 1/2 hours we FINALLY talk to the doctor.
He says that everything will be ok. I had someone set up to pick up my other child from day care but when I called no answer? Now I am at home without seeing my baby after his ordeal. My wife stayed at the hospital and will be there over night. I have not heard from her yet. Im getting nervous since the operation took 2 hours longer than it should have and my wife has not called me yet. Also now Ihave to worry about the person who was suppose to pick up my little girl. WHAT A LONG DAY!

Life throws a curve ball

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

Just when you think that you are getting a fast ball your swinging for the fences. Here it comes a curve ball and you strike out…

Swing Away:

At the end of October I made up my mind to compete in March. I did start and things were going great for 3 weeks. I became ill with the flu and was out of commission for 12 days. I bounced back and hit the gym hard and heavy, things are coming along nicely.

Curveball:

My son needs surgery on on his neck the 19th of December. He will be 13 months old on the 21st. After talking to the doctor, I find out that there is a risk of nerve damage and that the main artery is in that location. Needless to say I am getting more nervous the closer the time comes. I may be blowing it out of proportion but I can not help it. I can not eat right (contest diet anyway). I also have other personal problems to pile on as well.

Now what? I have decided to keep at the weight I am now and wait until 2009 to hit the stage. I think it would be good to keep the heavy lifting and extra cals in my diet for a while longer. I am feeling stronger than I have in a long time and hope to add some size. I look at this as a minor set back and will just be that much better when I am ready.

Feels like I am starting over

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

This past month has been a real battle with sticking to my diet and training consistantly. I was sick for 10 days then I had doctor appointment for my kids, this past week I had to take 4 days off because of problems at home. FINALLY today I am going to the gym and kill my legs. Saturday and Sunday are already set aside to hit the gym as well.

I guess Sunday night I will get my food ready for the following day and Monday I will get up an hour early and do a session of cardio b4 work. Maybe that is the little extra something that I need to get things going again?
