All or nothing BABY!

Today I woke up and made up my mind ( after a kick in the pants by halfpint866 and another great friend Kyle ) I am starting my Contest prep for the Northern Kentucky next March. I was going to "bulk" for a year and wait until next Fall to compete BUT I started to put things into prespective. A goal I set 20 years ago will never be achieved  (naturally anyway) so why not do the best that I can in the weight class I am now. My goal is to just do the best that I can. That is one thing that I am learning from a lot of you instead of trying to put too much pressure on myself to place better.

 I get a lot of good help here mentally and I am apreciative for that since I really don’t get much at home.

If this sport was easy

How many people actually go the extra mile and prepare food days in advance, get up 1 hour early to do cardio then bust their ass in the gym day in and day out? The ones who say oh you been thin all your life OR its easy for you are the ones that put no effort into it.

Sometimes I wounder why I do this each day then I look in the mirror and say: Thats why.

Now I can feel sorry for myself about my 4th and 5th place finishes in my last two shows BUT I am not! I AM ONLY GOING TO TRY THAT MUCH HARDER.

I am back so get out of the way or you will get run over.

 

Better than expected today

Today I went to the gym with intentions of a regular leg workout since it has only been 3 weeks since I have been getting back into heavier lifting than usual.  I started off with leg presses. After my 3rd warm up set I decided to put on an extra plate than I usually do. I did more reps than I thought i would so I added another plate and did 2 more sets BALLS TO THE WALL FULL EXPLOSIVE REPS! Yes my legs were chaffing after leg presses. WOW that is an awesome feeling.

4 sets of leg extensions and curls follow by 4 sets of calf raises. 3 sets of Roman chair reverses for hammies and lower back holding a 45lb plate to the chest. I am spent and looking forward to doing chest and biceps tomorrow. I am a week ahead of schedule……. YAHOOOOOO!!!!!

Need to vent

So I get to the gym its leg day, I love doing leg presses first. What do i see 8 plates on each side and a guy doing a so called set. Hardly one full rep in that set. I wait until he is done. I ask how many sets you have man? Reply was I’m done. The MOTHERF&*%$#R walks away. WTF I hunt the guy down by the leg curl machine and sai dude you gonna help me take a couple plates off? He said why? To my amazement I just shook my head and walked away. WTF.

No SH*T the very next day I see someone on the phone sitting on a bench. I ask how many sets do you have. He gives me the 1 minute sign and gets up walks away? I see him set the phone down and do a set of dumbell curls then get beack on the phone. WTF?

Alright I feel much better now. I am just glad that I am here typing this at home and not in jail for strangling a couple of idiots at my gym. Lets see what this week at the "gym, health club" whatever you want to call it. It is cheap what els can i expect?
