I’m the one in the red trunks. I took 4th out of the five. I Will do much better tonight at the Ohio show. I am hoping to take 3rd out of 8. We will see in a few hours.

With the help of people on this and another forum i am starting to get my spirits back up. I am looking forward to this weekends show. I just can’t take this stuff too seriously. Just take one show at a time and not think about trying to get into a bigger show. So wish me luck for this  Saturday.

Yesterday I looked the best I ever have in my life. I took the stage and thought I did a real good job. The verdict was in 4th place out of 5. I am sick to my stomach about this. My best is not good enough so now what? If I take 6 months out of my life give up social life and countless fights with the wife I see know that this stuff is definitly not worth it anymore. I am sorry that I already entered the Ohio show, I will still try my best because that is me and people I know bought tickets to see me BUT my confidence is shot to all ****ing hell.

Yeah I know "how many people actually do get on stage?"

Yeah I know "how many people my age are in this good of shape?"

Yeah I know "you should do it just for the sport."

It is more than that to me. I had a goal for 20 years now it is totally crushed and don’t know where to turn. If it weren’t for my kids I would have NOTHING in life anymore.

NO I AM NOT WHINING this is how I feel.

Then again who knows what will happen next week at the Ohio show?  Will the Carlman turn it around and look forward to training for other shows. Saturday will be the decision.

06:00– Got my 3rd and last coat of pro tan on. I am feeling like crap with this cold. I hope I kick it by tonight.

09:30– Head on out, get a cup of black coffee and hit the highway to firstplaceville. Actually I am a little nervous, excited and confident all at the same time if that is possible.

To all who have been following my blog  and that have been sooo supportive I want to say thanks! It really does help with some extra encouragement from your peers.

I am sticking with the plan of attack on my diet which i posted a couple days ago. Hope it works, we will find out tomorrow.

It’s about time to leave, I will post my results when I get home 1st place or last. I still have next Saturdays show to do yet as well. That one is only about 10 minutes from my house so it makes things a LOT easier.

1st coat of Pro Tan applied first thing when I got home from work today. Also posted last progress pic because it is about the best I will do until the show. I cut the sodium today and tomorrow at noon I will cut my water this should get me tighter by Saturday morning.  I feel real happy with what I have accomplished over the past 7 months.

 I still have a real bad cold with a fever, living on Dayquil. This cold is NOT going to hold me back or be an excuse if I don’t place well.

04:30– 55 minutes on Elliptical

06:00– protein drink and an apple.

09:15– 6 eggs (2 whole, 4 whites)

12:00– 6 eggs (2 whole, 4 whites)

15:00 Protein bar low carb

18:00– 7 eggs with cheese

21:30– 7 eggs with cheese

Man I have been really busy these past 2 days with my wife being sick I had to take care of the kids and couldn’t post my blog yesterday. Now today I feel like real garbage and came down with a cold. My spirits are still up for Saturdays show still.

I was able to do 40 minutes on the Elliptical today after work with a plastic sauna suit on. I really hope it helped break this sickness i have.  I am going to do 20 more minutes tonight and go to bed.

 My diet is still as planned as stated in my post 2 days ago. STILL ON TRACK.

Tomorrow I have to put the Tan on its going to be another hectic day.

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Woke up this morning and my weight was 135lbs with a   28 1/2" waist. I DID IT, this was my goal by showtime. I still am going through my plan as I wrote yesterday.

I GOT THE JOB THAT I INTERVIEWED AT LAST FRIDAY!!! 3 DOLLAR PAY RAISE, BEER IS ON ME. well after my show on the 31st anyhow. lol

Now back to business

06:00– oatmeal and protein drink

09:15– low carb Odyssey bar 7 net carbs 30 grams carbs

12:00– Chicken breast

15:30– Odyssey bar

Went shopping for food to make the drive to Kentucky and Saturday.

Tan for 15 minutes

18:30– 7 Eggs 2 whole and 5 whites added some salt. Drank a diet Pepsi to get some extra sodium.

20:00 -IFL fight league and cardio for 45 minutes.

21:00– 7 eggs with some cheese and salt addes.

Tomorrow i will eat low carb until I get home from work then 2 meals of carb load.

Today is my last weight training day. Reasons are that I do not want to 1) injure myself 2) be sore on Saturday at pre-judging 3) Use the time that I would be at the gym to practice posing the rest of the week.  My weight went down another pound and a half and my waist is UNDER 29" now.

With the cardio I did today and what I plan on doing tomorrow and Tuesday my waist should be around the 28 1/4" mark. 

My plan so far looks like this for this week. If anyone reads this and thinks it does not sound good let me know what they think. I have tried MANY different ways prior to a show and I really think that this is going to work for me.

 Tuesday at 16:00 I am going to carb load for 2 meals and load Wed. until about 18:00. I am going to add salt to all my food with drinking water as much as I can each day. Thurday will be my normal low carb day and drink 3/4 gallon of water. Cut the salt around noon. Friday I will keep the carbs low and drink water with meals only until weigh in then load a bunch of carbs to confuse my body which seemed to work a couple weeks ago with a trial run of this prep.

08:00– Oatmeal and protein drink

11:00– Protein drink

Legs– I did leg extensions and curls for 10 sets each really slow and concentrated reps. Stood and flexed quads after each set for 30 seconds and stretched hams after each set for 30 seconds. 5 sets seated calf raise with stretching for 30 seconds each calf.

25 minutes on elliptical level 15

Tan for 15 minutes

14:00– steak

17:00– steak

18:00– 35 minutes on the elliptical at home.

18:30– protein drink

20:30– Chicken breast and an apple.

21:00– BED

Saturday, March 17th, 2007

09:00– 7 eggs (2 whole, 5 whites)

Shoulders a traps– Hammer Strength shoulder press 4 sets 15,12,10,10, Super set rear and front delt raises 4 sets 12 reps each, side lateral raises 3 sets 12,10,10.

Shruggs– dumbell shruggs 4 sets with holding at the top and stretching at the bottom for a 3 count each rep.

Protein drink- low carb

Tan 15 minutes

13:00– 2 fish fillets

16:00– 2 fish fillets

17:30- 30 minutes of elliptical at home

18:30– Chicken salad

21:00– 7 eggs (2 whole, 5 whites) with some cheese

some time tonight another 30 minutes of cardio and a protein drink, then bed. Tomorrow will be my last day of weight training untill after my shows..

Friday, March 16th, 2007

05:00– 30 minutes cardio on stepper.

06:00- Protein drink no oatmeal today last week until showtime.

NO electricity at work so they sent us home (without pay of course)

08:30– 2 cans tuna

Back and Triceps– 10-15 reps on all exercises. Hammer strength regular row 3 sets, T-Bar rows 3 sets, Lat pull downs 3 sets and one arm pulls with cable and single handle for 4 sets.

Tricep push downs 4 sets, Rope push downs 3 sets and cable over head tricep extensions 4 sets.

25 minutes on Elliptical level 15.

Tan for 15 minutes

11:00– Protein Bar low carb 7 impact carbs and 30 grams protein.

13:30– 2 cans tuna

15:00 Job interview– Went great and i really hope this one works out for me. I have a real good feeling that I landed it. We will find out next week.

17:00– Protein bar on ride home

20:00– 7 Eggs (2 whole and 5 whites) with some cheese

22:00**Finished putting together the Elliptical that came UPS today.

It is Friday night NO work tomorrow so I will watch TV on my NEW 42" Big screen tv and try out my New elliptical for 45 minutes. What a good night.
