OK maybe someone out there can help me decide something about carbs/protien/fat ratios. typically during the off season i hold a 50/30/20 ratio of carb/pro/fats-or try to at least. i do a lot of running to stay lean and around 3-5lbs over contest weight-since ive been dieting down for this show (and w more weigh than normal to drop, thanks to a 6lb weight gain after surgery!!)i have been keeping about an even 33/33/33 ratio-my goal has been a 40/40/20 split-i know in the past i really didnt keep track of it that much but i usually kept my carbs and protiens about the same for each day ie if i had 120 carbs i had about 100-130g protien….does anyone know if the extra fat i am getting will hurt me for an impending show in 5 wks-so far i am seeing results w the even ratios..my fat sources come from natural peanutbutter, 93% lean ground turkey, protien bars/shakes and the occasional egg yolk in my egg whites….i am confused about it-dont know if i should up the carbs a bit and cut the fat back, or just keep doing the same stuff i have been…???a typical meal plan for me is as follows:
meal #1: 3-4 egg whites with 1/3c oatmeal, sometimes w about 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
meal 2# pure protien bar or a shake (made w water now, not milk)
meal# 3: 4-6 oz lean meat (turkey or chicken) w a sweet potato
snack: 2 rice cakes w 1 tbsp natural peanut butter OR same as meal #3(depending on workout)
meal 5: 4-6 oz lean meat with steamed veggies
if i am still hungry later in the night i have a protien shake or another protien bar..
all of this comes out to be about 1200-1400 kcals with about 100-120g protien and but with about 40-50g of fat…i am hoping my intense cardio sessions and plyo workouts burn that fat up…i really dont know if i am obsessing over this too much or not-all i know is that i want to look my best ever on stage in 5 wks and 3 days……and what i dont know is if i should just stay on track with what is working or try to play with it and see what happens?????????
if anyone has suggestions on what i can change to help cut back the fat or just help doing the ratio thing, or just about getting lean SOON-plz let me know!!!!

5 weeks and 4 days left-i am already counting the workouts down, isnt that sad? pretty much 11 -16 more leg days, 11-16 more chest and tri days, etc etc etc…..i am still really excited about this upcoming show but still apprehensive about that 2pc suit…..i think i can pull it off, but in the back of my mind im thinking that if my booty doesnt shrink and my belly doesnt lean out in time….
ah well-i still plan on following through with it, already invested the $$$ so why not. my supplements finally arrived so fat burners are in my system whoo hoo! now that 8 pack better be popping out in about 4 wks….
my leg workout was killer today -i did pyramids with almost every exercise–i actually felt really strong today and had the boys saying "damn i didnt you could leg press that much!" heehee, i always love to be underestimated-i may be small, but dynamite comes in small packages,eh?
hopefully the rest of this week i will continue to feel strong and be able to go balls to the wall!

6 weeks and 3 days till show….recieved my suit in the mail last week. i tried it on and all i can say is damn, my butt is too big for that itsy bitsy teenny weeny piece of fabric called a posing suit…..the front is as small as the back! my ghetto butt is hangin out all over the place!!!! if i diet down like crazy i think i can make the suit work for me, but if i dont drop an inch or two in my hips/ass/EVERYEHERE….well my fat ass isnt going on stage.
ok i feel better now.
but aside from the suit, training IS going well, belly is looking sooo much better (i have a 6-pack when i wake up, but it fades into a 4-pack by afternoon-wanting the 8 pack back NOW!)and my shoulders are starting to get caps, triceps need some work, biceps are fine, my back is looking awesome, great v-taper from the front, legs are still coming along good, upper quads and obviousley my ass need the most work…if anyone out there is reading this, i need some good advice on exercises i can do to get rid of my booty!!! please, any info is much needed!!! i already do a 30 minute sprint interval on the TM 2x a week, incorperate 1 plyo workout a week and i do the basic stuff for glutes, walking lunges, dead leg lift, squats, back extensions, etc…..ahhhh im just frustrated with my lower half but pleased with everything else….
hopefully everything will come together and i can look how i want to look by september 13th. im keeping my fingers crossed and trying to enjoy eggwhites and oatmeal.

Did light legs with plyo as active rest..feeling better today and last night i was seeing some major improvement in my legs! i am starting to get the teardrop in my quads and a slight seperation in my quad/ham-legs are looking good! if i could just get my butt tighter and smaller and get my 8 pk back and get LEAN, then things would be great! but here in the real world, things dont move that fast-i still feel i have a ways to go…..i’m still hanging on to the thought i will win over all at this show-positive thinking and visualization…..

I wanted to lift heavy so bad in the weight room today, i was pumped and ready-have been feeling sick for past 2 days, (hope soup and sprite in my diet plan wont destroy my efforts!!) so i havent been able to go balls to the walls like i want to. actually i havent been able to be the mad woman in the gym for about 8 wks now. i am still healing from surgery and still limited to what i can and cant do. I was able to have only 64lbs of resistance for pullups yesterday though, so i was OK about that-also i did 3 sets of 12 cable crossovers instead of only 2 sets. I know i am slowly getting better but my patience is running low-i have less than 8 wks till show and i still have 5 lbs to drop-In the back of my mind i have some doubts i will be ready in time. I know i need to stay positive and to do all what i physically can, but i am sooo ready to just train like crazy and lift what i could before surgery. I hope its all worth it in the end!!!

7 weeks and 5 days to go, i shouldnt be feeling like this. Last week was so good for nutrition-i hit every mark i had set and i was so motivated and excited i was doing so well…and for some reason, everything i am not supposed to be having, things i typically dont eat EVER, are suddenly looking VERY appealing to me now-especialy my childrens lunches! Mac & Cheese never looked so good, oh and my daughters potty treats-so far i have only hade 2 m&m’s and 3 bites of mac&cheese today-and ya know i feel so darn guilty for having that-i had such a great workout today too-a total butt and quad burner-i am pyramiding the weights and then doing plyometrics for 30-45 seconds b/t sets so i am really getting a great burn all the way-and then i topped that off with a 30 minute treadmill sprint interval-basically sprinting for 1 minute, running for 2 min and then sprinting again but a higher speed than previuos for a total of 30 minutes with a 5 min cooldown-it really kicked my butt—so maybe all that hard work will compensate for my cheat bites???? hope so but i doubt it—anyways i hope i can kick this urge to snack on everything i normally dont like but cant have..ah well i guess the thing i want now the most is a big ol frappacino and more peanuttbutter with my oatmeal! i keep telling myself that if i bump my protien intake up and guzzle the water down, it will help me from straying off the meal plan….more eggwhites please!

finally i am able to do a staggered push up again!!!! it was only 3 sets of 12, but better than what i could do last week! my healing process is slower than i want it to be, but i am being as patient as a i can and listening to my body and not overdoing it, since i am liited in the weight room, nutrition has been good and so has cardio….8 wks and 1 day till show time and so far i am pleased with how my body is transforming-i had no idea how much strenghth i could lose in 6 wks, but i am gradully getting it back and for some reason my body is responding rather quickly so definition is returning and i can see my abs agian! i did a killer incline interval treadmill workout that has left my booty sore! that is just fine w me though bc glutes and thighs need the most work, everything else is coming along on track-why not my butt?? i know myhubby likes a little junk in my trunk but i sure dont! if any one out there reading this knows any good butt workouts just hollar at me!
