Bye flip me!!

Being that I was super tired last night, as I sat to type my thoughts for the day, I realized that I was a bit too tired to express my thoughts in the best way possible. So here is my day as it played our yesterday.

I woke up super early and was just laying there. Since the rest of the walking crew usually spins on Thursday mornings, I got up, got dressed and rolled out at 5:10, instead of the usual 5:30. So I got going and was feeling great, when on my way back, who should I see, but the group. So I shouted out "what happened to spinning?" they told me that they weren’t going and texted me about it. But I guess that as I left so early, I missed it. So, because i am crazy, or i love their company, or cause I love to walk in the mornings, know what I did? I turned around, and did the route again, walked it TWICE!!! But loved it- (my walking group is cool) 

 

I surely paid the price for waking up so early though. Man, at around 2:30ish, I began to fel soooooo sleepy-wow.

 

 

So, I hit the gym in the evening, have a great workout, got a lot of stuff off of my mind, changed, got dressed and was on my way out, feeling like a million bucks, when my trianer tells me that someone has knocked the mirror off of my bike. No problem, accidents happen i think. So I approach the lady who was on the treadmill and asked her about it. Now before I give you her response, let me add my thoughts. It should have hit me that being that she didn’t look for the owner of the bike to make ammends, she wasn’t going to take ownership.

 

I ask, she says "I think it was broken before i Hit it!!" With this MAJOR attitude. It is funny how you can go from cool to knock you out in less than 10 seconds. lol I couldn’t beleive what I was hearing, so I go downstairs, and let the bottom of the gym know my dilemna- cheesh, so I go back and approach her again. Same answer, she truned my evening into a grrrrrrrrrrrrrr type of one. So now I am hoping that I won’t have to hunt her down for this. The mirror doesn’t even cost that much, but it is the principal of the whole thing!! FLIP ME!!!!!

 

I’m off to the gym now- peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeace

great successMy waist is SHRINKING!!!!!!!!!! VERY NICE- GREAT SUCCESS!!!! So I am pretty happy about that. Putting the cardio in, like i said before, I notice that cardio is the key, so I was increasing my time, an hour in the morning, and 45 mins in the evening, after i hit the weights. I have to thank MSNBC Countdown with Keith Oberman, his podcasts are 45 mins or so, and I love the wit, so he has been getting me through. So, good news!!

morning workouts

it is something about morning workouts that i just love. yes, it does seem that the morning seems to come fast as the week goes by, and it seems that as soon as you put your head down it is time to get up. lol but i love morning workouts. I walk with a group, i get up, get dressed and head out the door to link with them. Some mornings, i’ll admit, like this morning, i was a bit  drained, i slept well, but i felt tired, not sleepy, but tired, but i went out. we, walked, we keep a quick pace and run at the end, but along the way we talk and laugh and express how we feel about certain things. after the walk, when i was walking back to my house, i was thinking about how great i felt. the fresh air, the euphoric feeling that exercise gives you, the sunrise- I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so i got back home, did up my eggs, thinking how great it was to be able to do this, and how even though some days i don’t feel like doing this, the group is there to motivate me, and when it is all said and done, it really starts my day off on the right foot. lol no pun intended. lol

so this week marks high reps time. nothing under 15 reps. this means that i am going lighter, but whew, more reps. the thing about high reps is that it is a different frame of thought. low reps are easy. yes, it is heavier and all, but high reps, when you hit 12, whew, gotta keep going. all in the mind. so high reps, let’s go….

on another note, when i was on the elliptical machine, i typed in my facebook status "Shannon is on the elliptical and loving it. Whoop whoop!!" the responses were funny. one person, asked why it seemed as if i loved exercise. lol another said, gee, you need to motivate me, another said, hey you lot, it is a rush, the endorphins feel great!! lol so it was funny to see all of the responses to my post after i got going. you on facebook? add me- all the best in your workouts!!

Battle of the mind

yesterday, i was about to eat my salmon and salad, when my taste buds started a protest. "We don’t want this bland food!!!!" they shouted, and all within hearing range of my brain. My brain then picked up on this message, dwelt onn it, then said" flip this- we are going for taste!!"

The battle ensued.

 

My brain and tastebuds won…..they ganged up on me….i went for taste over quality protein…bland, but quality. I didn’t splurge and go far off the program, I just didn’t feel like that bland taste of the salmon.

 

Now I know that someone is going to read this and say, "just season it a bit more, or try a different recipie.." thanks, but no matter what i do to it, it still stays bland. But today i should be back on track- gulp!!!!

So, today is friday, i don’t feel like waxing eloquently, i don’t feel like coming up with some great and funny story, just know that i hurt!!!! ouch. i am walking around like an old man today!!!! my legs have plotted their revenge on me, and they are in the process of executing their plan. ouch!! So this afternoon, i am glad that i just have arms, something slight, doesn’t require much walking, and then i have Saturday to REST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhhhh, REST!!!!!! can i get a witness?

I must say that so far, everything has been going great. The cardio, the eating, the workouts, i am loving how it has been going, plus my new motivation partners on this site. I look forward to seeing who left a comment as well as what they had to say- your comments are appreciated. Tomorrow is Friday already!!! wow, talk about a fast week- rest time soon come!!! well, i’m off to bed- good night.

let me start with my weekend, i got my fill of rest-mmmm it was gooood!! Saturday, for most of the day, i SLEPT!! So i hit the gym yesterday refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to go. Chest-hit that hard, got up this morning, was about to hit the streets with my walking crew, but heard the rain, so, no problem, plan b- the spinning bike. :) wheeled the bike out and did it for 50 mins, it was feeling good.
This evening, i did back, then 30 mins on the bike. I am noticing that cardio is the key for me to this whole thing. So I am going to be upping my cardio by 10 mins each week. So I did 50 mins this morning, 30 this afternoon. Last week, I was doing 20 mins in the afternoons. Not the super high intensity type, watching my heart rate, not trying to get it past 130 bpms. I’ll keep you posted- wish me well k?
