the therapeutic side of bodybuilding. Today I had a lot going on. It was a stressful type day. I had an emergency meeting scheduled for 4:30, but before I went there, I had to hit the gym. I did shoulders. I changed, put on the earphones, and hit it HAAAARD!!!!!! and it felt GOOD!!!!! that is what I love about this- you can take it all out on the weights. ahhhhhh so therapeutic…. so i arrived at my 4:30 meting at 4:45, and feeling GREAT!!!

good to go

Sad News

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Well, today I received that Kim Matthews, a girl that I went to highschool with and have wonderful conversation with whenever we link was walking through town today, and passed out and died, she had an aneurism….. cha, she was 35- makes you appreciate life and put things into perspective.

May she rest in peace….

My Olympia picks

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

Here is my view on the top ten spots this weekend for the Olympia (would like to have been there to witness this):

Dennis James

Dennis Wolf

David Henry

Melvin Anthony

Jay Cutler

Dexter Jackson

Gustavo Badell

Phill Heath

Silvio Samuel

Toney Freeman

There, my top ten. Want the top 5 breakdown? Ok, here it goes, in no particular order:

Jay Cutler- he may take it, he has to bring it like Michealangelo worked on him after last years sloppy look, he has to bring it to prove to the nay sayers that he is worthy of the title- some wonder if the Olympia is really non biased.

Phill Heath- the guy is truly a phenom- looks awesome!!! Met-rx is really working well with his body….

Toney Freeman- he has been bringin it in true X man, form- looking awesome

Dennis Wolf- the dude is flippin well awesome- he has made stupid improvements compared to last year, if the judges really do judge you on yourself more than how you look compared to the others, he should do well

Silvio Samuel- the guy is like the little engine that could- lol but he looks good

**i know i said top 5, but I think Gustavo Badell has a good shot also, he usually brings it
** Let me add Dexter Jackson also, I forgot about him, how could I? I think he has a shot at winning.

So this weekend we shall see who takes the Mr. "O" title. I am looking forward to it.

All the best at the CAC’s

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

This weekend in Bahamas the CAC’s will take place. That stands for Central American and Caribbean Championships. The messed up thing is that it is going down the same weekend as the Olympia- makes no sense to me as the Olympia is the superbowl of the IFBB, so how something can be held on the same weekend as that behooves me. But anyway, the Bermuda team left today to head there, I wish them all the best. This show was held here last year and was rather exciting. The CAC’s have the best from all of the Central American places, the Caribbean, and parts of S. America. I don’t like the fact that the majority of the bodybuilding coverage is on the U.S.A., and you wouldn’t even think that Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and other places are into bodybuilding. Hey, it is a worldwide sport. But I am not here to get on my soapbox, so Bermuda team, all the best…

Here are Carmichael’s clients, you know my brova that trains people at my gym, in fact, I would dare say he is one of the top 5 trainers in the world. All of his people paced 1st or came second to his other client who came first- check his site: www.carmicaelbryan.com

ALL the best you lot!! wooo hoooo!!!

What a day..anyone wanna share recipies?

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Today, for some reason, I really feel flushed after teaching my classes. WOW!!! whew. So I sit her at my desk, with the pre-workout music pumping to get me psyched and ready- shoulders today. I was hoping that today was Wednesday cause it really, really felt like it should have been. lol

I took a picture of my meal on Sunday, it was really good, I found a non-salt seasoning for salmon while in Canada this summer. You rub the fish in olive oil, sprinkle the seasoning on, pop it in the Foreman grill for a few minutes, then…….BAM!!!! lol (couldn’t resist that one) so here it is, if anyone has a recipie that works for them for tilapia or salmon or even boring chicken breasts, please share. Thanks

Feast your eyes pon this……food.jpg mmmmmmmmmmm :)

Bad night

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Last night, I hopped into bed, nothing different…I drifted off…still nothing new….and fell off into dream world.

until….

3 o flippin clock!!!!!!!!!!  I woke up at 3 and could not go back to sleep. I just couldn’t drift off. I hate that feeling, I HATE IT!!!!!!!! And it came from out of no where!! uggghhhh!!!!! So I there I lay, thinking of all osrts of things, still not drifting. So I decided to go and watch some t.v., nothing was on that was worthwhile, so that wasn’t working. So i hopped back into bed…nothing….so I jumped on the internet…..nothing…I jumped back into bed….nada!!!!!

So I decided that I would sort out a few lesson plans for this week for my class. This is what i did until 5:30, when my phone went off, and I saw a text from one of my walking partners asking me if i was up. Am I up? lol So I get dressed, worried that my lack of sleep would take its toll on me during the walk. Nothing happened. It went well. So I came back home, got cleaned up and all, ate, then headed off, worried that around 10 or even 2, I would begin the battle of the sleep world. But, to my amazement, nothing, I was ok. I went ot the gym, did back, no problem, had a meeting with the parents at school, still cool, the station is not on for some reason tonight, so the only show that I really watch, Prison Break, cannot be seen (that show is hot by the way) so I guess this means that after this blog is  typed, I am hopping into the shower, then into bed. The clothes are ironed, the food is packed…let’s see what happens tonoght- peace, come on sand man, where are you?!?!?!

hydrotherapy- try it

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

Got up this morning, went for a run, it felt great as usual. In fact as I was running, I bumped into a lot of people that I know, so it was great to encourage people and be encouraged as I ran. When I came back, I tried something. Yesterday, I was in a presentation on hydrotherapy. It was so interesting. One thing that the lady brought out was hot and cold showers. I used to do these before, but stopped, so after yesterday’s presentation, I tried it today. It was sooooo good. You go 3 mins or so, with the water as hot as you can get it or take it, then quickly switch to cold water, for about 30 seconds, you alternate this for three rounds and end on the cold. You leave feeling so refreshed and energized. Not only does it make you feel relaxed, but apparently it helps to boost white blood cells, which, of course help to fight sickness and disease in the body. In fact, according to the lady yesterday, the white blood cells double and even can triple= naturally!!! So this is what i did, try it- it really makes you feel great.

So now i have to get ready for this upcoming week. Get the salmon and chicken breasts ready, everything. It really helps the week to go by that much easier, you just grab and go. So have a great week- if you try the hydrotherapy shower alternate hot and cold, let me know- peace
