PB&J

Haven’t had a blog for a while, but you can get the gist of how I am doing by looking at my pics and motivation status.

The topic for today is peanut butter.  I hadn’t had that stuff for a long time on a nice sandwich with jelly.  Then the other night, it was like a party in my mouth.  Don’t get me wrong I’ll eat the occasional Reeses’ Peanut Butter Cups but I just wasn’t too into PB in general.  So here is the question, obviously it has protein and such but I’m not a vegeterian or vegan and I know it has fat in it too.  Is it better to have a decent amount of it in your diet or is it something to lay off?

  1. Captain Ahab Says:

Peanut butter in moderation, especially the "no sugar added" kind is a good source of protein.
The oils in peanut butter as with most other nuts or nut butters are good oils and are very healthy for your body.
Don’t worry about the odd scoop of peanut butter or even a peanut butter sandwich on 100% whole wheat bread, in fact by adding a tablespoon full of peanut butter to your protein shake you are getting extra protein along with some essential oils that your regular protein shake doesn’t have.
Now Reeses’ Peanut Butter Cups are a whole nother story.
    Enjoy and Happy Halloween.
