I ended up spending Sunday night and most of Monday at the hospital with my baby. He was having trouble breathing again and we couldn’t seem to help him with the nebulizer at home so we took him to the ER. 18 hours later we were discharged and I had only gotten about 3 hours of sleep. I was exhausted, emotional, and I missed a workout on Monday morning but I managed to keep my diet clean throughout our stay. I slept 14 hours last night and I was able to make up my workout today so I am back on track.
Tomorrow I’m going to spend some time in the kitchen and make some good clean meals for the lunchbox. I’m also going to do a bootcamp class at my gym.

I had an intense workout today it was all lower body. Front and side lunges, deadlifts, squats, knee lifts, plus cardio. I’m going to be hurting tomorrow and I love that feeling. Being sore is a constant reminder to me that I need to eat clean! I don’t want to undo all of my hard work.
Now that the initial jazz of starting a new routine is wearing off I know I’m going to have to be really consistant and forget about all of the excuses I’ve made in the past. No one is going to hand me a better body. I’m going to have to work for it!

I’m feeling so much better now that the first week is over. I ate clean 6 out 0f 7 days last week. and I’ve already lost a few pounds. My coworker even mentioned that I looked slimmer. Now that I’m over my initial sugar withdrawl I am enjoying the simple meals.
MJ (my hubby) and I are doing workouts together. It’s the first time I’ve ever had a workout partner. I think it is going to be a great motivation for both of us. Yesterday we did upper body and Thursday we are going to do lower body. We’re also doing cardio 3x a week. We’re going to stick to this plan for 8 weeks before we change it up.

I’m still not feeling well today (I have strep) so I’m not going to the gym today. Today I will focus on staying on track with my meals and feeling better because tomorrow I’m going no matter what.

So my arms are so sore today that it hurt me to pull my shirt on over my head. That’s good though. I think it’s my teres from lat pull downs. Anyways, I think I’m coming down with something my throat really hurts. Is that some strange side effect? I am really exhausted but I thought working out was supposed to strengthen your immune system. ??? I’m off to bed so I can sleep this off.

My arms are really sore this morning and I can feel that my hamstrings got a workout. I really want to go to the gym again today for cardio but I don’t want to go completely overboard this week and burn myself out. I want to patiently usher fitness back into my routine so I don’t overwhelm my body or my schedule. But we’ll see…if I have energy at the end of the day I might go and get a short session in and take a sauna for my aching muscles. I also feel more alert after only one day of clean eating I can tell I’m less groggy and I don’t feel a desperate need for sugar or caffeine right now, that’s new. I ate about 1800 calories yesterday and about 130grams of protein. I think that was enough calories but I’m going to work on getting more protein.
Here comes day two!

Today is the day that I have chosen to set my plan into action. Over the weekend I have written my goals, planned my meals for the week, and done all of the necessary shopping. I have also taken my "before" photos which I can’t even bear to post right now. I have pledged to stick to a clean diet and to get to the gym a minimum of three times a week. Armed with a refridgerator full of fresh food and my gym membership card I am ready to conquer my fat, my fears, and myself!
Wish me luck!
