The Important Stuff
Over the last couple of days, I’ve kind of strayed from my meal plan a bit. Now, this isn’t the end of the world, because I’ve still been eating healthily and avoiding bad foods for the most part, but I still wish I could’ve stayed stronger while visiting my girlfriend. I just seem to kind of lose myself in the moment.
I get back to Terre Haute tonight, though, and from here on out, it’s quite easy to eat only what I should because of my limited food supply.

Notes
Over the next couple of days, I’m going to be visiting my girlfriend in Chicago. Unfortunately for me, Chicago is the greatest cheater’s paradise of all time. You have your Italian beef, Chicago style hot dogs, amazing Greek gyros, awesome Thai food, and the best pizza on the planet, all in one city. It’s enough to drive any person trying to eat healthy crazy!
Fortunately, Angela cares about her nutrition as much as I do about mine, so I won’t be tempted to eat foods that are terrible for me. That’s a definite good thing. I may, just maybe, have to sneak a Chicago style hot dog in here though. I love those things.
I ended up having a 7th meal today because I was starving at 10:00 pm after a little bit more activity than I expected (ahem). I needed to eat something so I grabbed a Met-RX meal replacement bar. It was really disgusting though, so I think I’ll try to avoid those in the future. I thought it was going to be more chocolaty than it was. The taste was overall unfortunate.

Notes
I had a couple of protein shakes today (3 in fact), and boy did they taste good. Because I’m at home, I have access to a full range of cooking ingredients and a high quality blender, so I was able to make these things that I call Muscle Monkeys. You can see the full recipe on another blog that I wrote for a while ago. Because I’m trying to stay pretty lean, I nixed the Hershey’s syrup and the ice cream for these ones. Man, they were super tasty. Anyways, here’s the rest of today’s info.

I can’t wait until all this leftover Italian Easter food is gone. I ate a ton for Meal 4 because I feel bad rejecting food from my pseudo-grandmother. Being at home is hard because there is so many tempting foods to eat and I just need to stay away from them.

These past two days have been terrible for me. My eating schedule has been all thrown off, and I’ve been eating 2 very small meals and 1 very large one because I’m traveling for this competition. I also wasn’t able to get my full program of supplements.
I didn’t have my notebook so I haven’t written down what I’ve eaten the last two days, but it wasn’t good. I can’t wait until I get into a more stable environment and can start eating better again.
As far as supplements go, the only one I’ve been able to take is 6 tablets of Leukic per day. My creatine and NO-Explode aren’t available to be taken.

Today was my "Get Big" meal plan day, so I am supposed to eat a lot of carbs. I think I definitely accomplished that goal. I was on the move (in an airplane or on the road) almost all day today, so I didn’t eat as well as I would have liked. That is unfortunate.
I went to bed at 12:00 pm, so I definitely ate too many carbs close to bedtime, but it was the soonest I could get to a restaurant and I was starving. I really upped my protein levels at that meal too, so I’m not too worried. Friday dinner will have been my "cheat" meal.

Today was supposed to be a light day because of my lack of weightlifting, but it comes off a lot heavier than the last couple of weeks. I realized that I wasn’t really giving my body enough calories to work with, so I’m trying to gradually increase it to a point where I feel comfortable with the amount I’m taking in and the amount I’m burning.
I’ll tell you what, I had misgivings about the blueberry bread that I ate, and I know it probably wasn’t that good nutritiously, but it provided me with a great tasting little treat for two meals. I don’t think it’ll kill me to have that little bit of sugar either.

I think I did ok as far as eating goes today. My supplements are also helping me, I believe. The only funny thing is that the leukic turns my piss a bright fluorescent yellow.
I think if there was one thing I’d change about today it is meal 2. It was very unsatisfactory while eating it, and I feel like I didn’t get enough food to sustain me to the next meal. The bowtie pasta was tough, the marinara sauce was watery, and the slice of toast with peanut butter was just lame. I’d much rather have a boneless, skinless chicken breast grilled with red wine vinegar and Italian seasoning. Just thinking about it makes me hungry all over again.
Hopefully I’ll be able to eat better this summer when I have an apartment and don’t have to eat at a cafeteria where the dishes for dinner have 33, 45, and 52 grams of fat per serving. Awesome right?

I felt like my diet was good today, overall. The only place I really feel like I failed was at dinner. Those 2 Shrimp and Vegetable eggrolls may not have contained many calories, but I’m worried about the fat content. In addition, the carved turkey breast was very high in protein, but may have contained a lot of fat calories also.
If I can cut out that type of meal from my diet, I really feel like I’ll be on track to something special.
