Day 9&10 of 26: Exhausted!

Some killer workouts I have had. Today I am off of work and I am glad because I feel like an old grandma walking around with my son. I did a great workout on Sunday on my upper and lower body and I am still feeling it!! Yesterday was my rest day for workouts, however I ate according to plan and drank all of my water. The scale is still at 165 today, maybe more movement next week? We will see.
Today is a challenging day. So far I was doing great with my meals until my son requested a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch. As I was preparing it I forgot how good they smell. So, guess what? I had one too. I know I shouldn’t have, but I did. So now my meal plan today is little jacked up, but I will get back on the ball this minute. So far I ate

  1. meal 1: Oat meal, turkey breast, and banana
  2. meal 2: Chicken breast on sandwich, sunflower seeds
  3. meal 3: My mishap.. Peanut butter and jelly sandwich (lots of fat, huh?)
  4. Meal 4: Tuna steak, green beans
  5. Meal 5: Chicken breast, cauliflower, brown rice

Do you think I did a little damage with the PB&J? I know I must have, I just hope not too much.

Later i will be watching the biggest loser on t.v and then I will force myself to do step aerobics inside of tae bo tonight along with a shoulder and ab workout too. Speaking of Billy Blanks’ tae bo, have any of you tried the tae Bo amped? I just ordered the set and there was a good mix of good and bad reviews on it. Some people complain that the workout set only worked out the upper body and not much emphasis on the lower body which is okay for me. I all ready had a plan for the lower body I just really need to work the upper. But, if you did tried this set please let me know your thoughts on it.

Day 8 of 26: Feeling the Burn!

Well, today I had to do some re-adjustment to my weight. My actual start weight was 168 not 160lbs. I made a boo boo, so now it looked like I gained versus losing weight. I got on the scale again and I am still maintaining my 3lbs loss keeping my scale at 165 this week. I am happy weight that and hoping to see more next week Sunday. I just finished my workout today I did:

  1. leg extensions on the bowflex since I did not get them in yesterday
  2. hamstring curls
  3. lat pull downs
  4. tricep pull down
  5. bicep curls
  6. 30 minute body sculpt with Gilad

I am so ready for bed right now and I know I will be sore in the morning, but oh well!! Tomorrow I have got to fit in some cardio before going to workout. I may just need to go to bed earlier so that I can get up early and workout before my son wakes up. I will get up! I can do it!! ( I am trying to convince myself, huh?) Well, I hope that you all had a great weekend and I look forward to seeing how your weekly progress goes.

Day 6 & 7: Still Going Strong!

Hi ya,

Just wanted to update and say that my challenge is still going as planned and it is becoming a good habit to keep. Day 6 I completed rested and recouped from my workouts which my body really needed because today Day 7 I kicked up my cardio routine and did 45 minutes of step aerobics. Man I was so tired beginning the workout but shortly into it I was okay and completed it with no problem. No I just need to finish my resistance training on my legs. You know leg extension, hamstring curls, lounges, thighs, and etc before I really relax for this evening.

So far into a week in my challenge I am already seeing a difference in my legs and waist because my clothes are fitting looser in those areas, yey!!

Well, I am off for now. Gotta blog on my site and get back to working out my legs. Oh yeah check out my friend’s bodyblog page batangelina (tressa) and vote for her in her contest she is in. She is so awesome and a great inspiration to follow.

Day 5 of 26: Working Out My Shoulders!

Dang, after looking at all of you beautiful figure and fitness pros and your beautiful shoulders I was like that is what I am missing. I need to workout my shoulders. My shoulders look so puny. So I found a great workout in my November issue of Oxygen Magazine, page 116, and had a blast/burn. You know?

  1. Seated Dumbbell Shoulders press 4×10
  2. Dumbbell Lateral raise 4×10
  3. bent over lateral raise 4×10
  4. pre-exhaust superset with a barbell 4×10

In a bit I will be going for a walk/jog for 2 miles and then I will return to workout on our bowflex. I need to get in my chest, triceps, lats, and back.

Day 4 of 26:On track

Happy Halloween!!

Today was another good day. I got all of my scheduled meals done, I also worked out my legs and drank 70oz of water too. This clean eating is not bad at all!! I know I should not have gotten on the scale again today, but I could not help myself. I got and the scale and if showed me being down another 1.5Lbs!! Holy cow, that is a total of 3 pounds. Yey!! However, I will try to stay off the scale until next week. I swear I can be a slave to my scale sometimes, but it is right my my vanity and I just can’t help but to hop right on it, lol. The soreness in my legs has subsided a bit, thank GOD!! So, now I can really rev up my cardio tomorrow which is another 2 mile jog in the hood.

Well, not much more to report. I hope that all of my friends had a great day and not going too crazy on the Halloween treats. I had 4 treats which was 2 small reeces peanut butter cup and 2 small m&ms. Now, I am done with that and on to the next. In a bit I will be doing some research on figure competitions. I am intrigued a bit and will get information to prepare myself for when I am ready.

Day 3 of 26: Down 1.5Lbs!!!

Day 3 is a good day, but I am really sore in my buttocks and legs. What in the world? But the nice thing is that my legs are firming up again and I like that. Another great thing about today is that I decided to step on the scale to see if I am losing at the same time and hot damn!! I am down 1.5lbs!!! Yipee. Just in a few days I can feel the difference and I would be crazy to blow it tomorrow with the Halloween candy floating around. I know have the strength to deal with that because I want to see more result next week.

Today, I worked on my abs for 10 minutes and just a few minutes ago I did 30 minutes of step aerobics. I can’t believe I made it through. I felt like I was in labor… I was breathing so hard, lol. Now I am just relaxing and chatting and soon I will be hitting the showers and bed.

Tomorrow will just be a weight training day for me. It time to work the lower body again. Ouch!! I hope the soreness lighten up a bit, but if not I will deal with it.

Today I had the same meal plan as yesterday and tomorrow will be a little different. I think I will:

  1. Meal 1: Muscle Milk (strawberry flavor) mixed with one banana, Whole wheat toast
  2. Meal 2: Chicken breast, Whole wheat bread, grapes
  3. Meal 3: Salmon, brown rice, green beans
  4. Meal 4: Muscle Milk (cookies and cream), carrots
  5. Meal 5: Chicken, brown rice, green beans, almonds

That should be an A-Okay menu for fat loss and muscle building. Then later hubby and I will take our son Trick or treat!! He going to be Batman!! See

Day 2 of 26: I am feeling it!!

So far today I am doing well on my challenge of eating clean, but boy am I feeling it. I completed yesterdays workout I listed on my previous post and man is my booty sore!!! It needs to be with that extra jiggle (fat) I have back there,lol. Today I have completed most of my weight lifting with the exception of my bicep and triceps that I will be completing in a few seconds since my son decided to take a nap. Yahoo. I am so tempted to sleep myself, but I better not. Well I am off for now..

Day 1 of 26

I bet you are like what? Day 1 of 26? Well I have given myself a challenge to eat clean, stay 100% to my workout plans, and drink 80 ounces of water from today until thanksgiving day. That almost a month to see progress toward my goal of building muscle. One of my goals is to see a reduction in my waist and muscle building in my back and legs areas, hell I want to see a complete body improvement.

So far today went as planned and I am excited about that. I stuck to my meal plan which was:

  1. Meal 1: Muscle Milk, banana, whole wheat toast
  2. Meal 2: Chicken, whole wheat bread, raw broccoli
  3. Meal 3: Chicken breast, green beans, half baked potatoe
  4. Meal 4: Muscle Milk, carrots
  5. Meal 5: salmon, zucchini, half bake potatoe

Do you think this was a okay plan for building muscle and losing fat? I hope I did okay. Then my workout today was:

  1. leg extensions on the bowflex 3 set of 15 (100lbs)
  2. leg curls 3 sets of 15 (85 pounds)
  3. Later this evening I did reverse and front lounges 3 set of 12
  4. inner and our thigh abductions 3 set of 15 each
  5. squats
  6. Stiff-legged deadlift
  7. In 5 minutes I will get my cardio finished which will be tae bo for 30 minutes

Well, I am off to complete my tae bo and I will chat later.

The Day Is Done..

Well, I just returned home from my 2 mile jog a few hours ago and in addition to that jog I did 20 more minutes of cardio by completing a step aerobic circuit. So, I feel good! But at the same time I am tired!

Okay, if you did not notice I finally posted my starting pictures. Boy do I have some work to do. I wear a size 8 and I am still jiggly in areas I don’t like, but that will change soon. Isn’t that great? We have control on how we can improve our bodies inside and out. What do you all think of the new pics? Please be kind? I don’t look too bad after losing 65 pounds and having a child too. hee hee. Well I am going to get ready for bed and get prepared for my leg workout tomorrow and maybe 30 minutes of cardio before I go to work too.

Thanks so much to Chelish for giving me such an awesome routine for working my back muscles. I tried them today on my hubby’s bowflex and weights and I have to say it was a great workout!! In a bit I am about to go for a 2 mile jog with my friend in the hood and then later I will be posting my before (Of Me today ,after the 65 pound weight loss. You would really be shocked if you saw my before, before pictures when I weighed 225 pounds back in Sept. 2005) pictures so that I can track my progress from month to month. My goal is to see an overall improvement to my body, but my focus is the back area. I got my diet in order and tomorrow I will be stocking the fridge again with awesome lean meats, veggies, carbs, fruits and all.

Anyway, have any of you tried the Whey Gourmet protein shake? I have been seeing it advertised in the Oxygen Mag and wondered if it will taste okay. I was interested in a chocolate flavor. If you have tried tell me what you think?
