I’m a bit discouraged. I really need to kick that scale to Kansas. I have tossed so many scales in my life, piss off at what I was reading. I am sitting here after a very clean week. I am still sore from the last 2 workouts and everything is pumped and I am 2 pounds heavier. Can someone explain that to me? I wish I had a pizza. ;0) No I don’t but it sounded good for a moment.

First of all, have you all seen the legs on fitchic0826? Beautiful young girl. Makes me want my youth back.
I wish I had been so driven to do this transformation years ago. Look at how much was missed, how many cakes suffered at my hands giving their lives for the fat cause, spaghetti dinner and garlic loaves, chili dogs, OMG my favorites.
I stood in the gym yesterday morning swinging a kettle ball overhead as I looked in the mirror at definition and size in my arms I’ve never seen before. I knew the guy behind me was watching me between his sets. NO, not like that……watching my workout. Then dropping the kettle down between my legs in the squat (well maybe like that, he had the butte shot) and seeing my legs and hips smaller. Right now I’m just glad I have come to some point in my life, even at this age, that I finally got it.
Change in workout….was doing 3 way split, arms/shoulders, chest/back and legs. Now I have a 4 way split and the diet is not only stricter, (no red meat on the list) it’s measuring…..Yikes! Okay, we are serious, now. Here we go.

Okay, I’m working a cycle here. Low carb on my work days which are my cardio only and higher carbs on my off days which are my strength training days. I have a 12 hour work schedule, 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on 3 off. Yeah, me family gets confused too but I am stricter on my diet on my work days so I chose to lower the carbs then. I’ll only eat what I pack.
Now the new trick is I have to up the protein. I was having it at my meals of course but my trainer said 7 or 8 times a day. So I have 4 meals of clean food and 3 protien shakes sprinkled in. Seemed like a lot last night but I got it all in before I got home and got to bed.
I’m hoping this coupled with the strength training days, I’ll see more surface definition in the muscle. We’ll see.

This is definately a girl thing but I met a goal I set a year ago…..10" off my waist. I started last year with the measurements 44-38-48, proportioned for a big girl. I’m down to a 38.5-28-41. I’ve been doggin’ that hip measurement but I can’t seem to get it down. Actually, my thinking is wrong. The largest curve measured is not the problem. I’m trying to reshape and create a sway. You ladies get what I’m saying.
Okay. I am looking at the Figure competition photos and winning comments. Some are winning with great musclularity and some are not winning because the are too musclular. The look needs to be softer. I’ve seen round butts win, I’ve seen less round more muscle visible. I know it’s the over all package but if anyone has a clue on what judges are looking for please share.

Nothing like a home exercise DVD to show you just how uncoordinated and rhythemless you really are. I did the first DVD yesterday, and kept yelling "WAIT!!" I was trying to catch up. I will say I showed off during the pushups. In the prone position, I did a pushup and then you have to left a hand and touch and a shoulder. Back down and up and touch the other shoulder. Bad a– chick that I am, I have gained enough strength to do a few of those. Still can’t do a pull up but I am improving my hang time. ;0)

I used the Super Charge and BCAA before last night’s lower body sessions. Typically I do 5 to 6 exercises, 4 sets each, then 20 minute cardio, for legs is the Stair Master. I was so pumped, I did 9 exercises, some had 5 sets and I upped my leg extention and curl weights. I did this time exhaust the feeling from the Super Charge. Was awake long enough to watch a movie and eat and slept with no problem.
Started documenting my workouts. Something I’m not diligent at and I know I need to do in order to record progress. I’ve started and laid aside so many food journals. Just trying to eat clean. BUT I won’t know what worked and what did not if I don’t do it. It’s really part of the whole transformation. So bought several small journals and started again. Gotta stick to it.
Thanks to my Pop for a Borders gift card for my birthday last month. I went to find a new fitness book and ended up in the videos. Got 2 workout videos and hit the door to see a poster that send "buy 2 get one free." I turned right around and got a 3rd workout video. These are good for before work. I can cook and workout at the same time. I also really needed something for the thighs. We’ll see how the are.

There are things a person just can not eat and try to get the shape they want, like any chip or off the shelf cookie. BUT I am going to admit to some things I can not give up…..
Cheese - I have cheese regular or 2%, a serving a day, usually in my eggs.
Skim Milk - Well that’s not too bad but it is extra calories.
Diet Doctor Pepper - This is maybe 2 can a week.
Peanut Butter - This is a staple. I put it on my banana, in my shakes, lick it off the spoon. and by the way Simple Jiff is good but not good enuff, gotta have the real thing.
Texas Toast - OH DON’T GIVE ME THAT LOOK. It’s only once a in 2 weeks to a month. I will pair a piece with whole wheat pasta and turkey sausage.
Mayo - I do use the lite olive oil version and actually this is only about once every couple of weeks too. I usually will have dark mustard.
Frozen Yogart - Gotta have a treat. About once a week.
Pillbury Fridge Cookies - Now this is a treat and no more than maybe once a month.
So these are my confessions. I eat alot of chicken, turkey, fish, fresh spinach, lots of eggs, oatmeal, shredded wheat. For the most part, I have redone the recipes that are my favorite like spaghetti, taco, sloppy joes all made with turkey and eaten with whole wheat and low carb wraps with veggies. A cheat day for me is a reduced fat Hebrew National on a wheat bun with turkey chili and a Diet Doctor Pepper.
Guys, if you saw how I used to eat…..well I bet you are familiar. I don’t eat fast food anymore. I take my meals to work and I go home to eat or eat before I leave. On this there is no excuse.
As I get closer to competition time, even my small cheats will have to be given up. I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.

I always have a good night at the gym when no body else is there. I got run of the radio, I can talk to myself, I’m not scared to try new exercises and make ugly faces to push through the set. I can set up several exercises at once and do a circuit. I can dance between sets and flex in the mirrors. After a shift, it’s crowded and everybody is looking at everybody else. Later for that.
I tryed the Super Charge tonight. I felt pumped long after I left. I started drinking it on the way to the gym which is less than 10 minutes from the house. It says drink 15 minutes prior ro workout. So to get the full effect I need that 15-20 minute lagg time. I did hit a couple more machines after my cardio, on the way out the door. If I didn’t have to be somewhere, I would have stayed longer. It’s almost 3 hours later and I still want to knock out a few push ups. I’m not sick or fidgety, just want to move the body, you know?
The Thermo X, CLA and Glucomannan, (spelling), combination…..Okay I’m going to go there late night…..It makes me go to the bathroom like after every meal. I see that as a good thing. You can only burn so much fat. The rest has gotta come out some where. The proof will show in the scale.
I did chest and back tonight, and a little abs. I do see the wider top and trimming down. Good look. I’m in there chanting "life changes." I never want to go down that road of the "big girl" again. I think I’m always going to have that big girl inside. But I want to keep her tamed, throw her a cookie every once in a while but not at the risk of her surfacing. I still have to honor all parts of my character and can’t deny she’s not there. It’s like keeping myself in check.
Any who….Peace to my struggling peers on the site. Rededicate yourself everyday.

Finally updated the photos. Did pretty good for having gone through the major holidays. I am looking what I call "photo thin." The camera is supposed to add weight. Well, I don’t look that bad. I have to learn that little side by side deal because the comparison is where you see the difference.
Weigh in yesterday at 173 but down .5% bodyfat. I think the weight went up because I did not eat enough during my days off. I do better on work days. I have to pre-prep for days off too. I just figure I have time. I get tired after workout, eat, shower and I’m out like a light and I miss a meal or 2.
Also adding and changing some supplements. Adding Super Charge Xtreme as a pre- strength training supplement. I believe I stated I was trying Thermo X. So far so good. Adding the CLA and Glucomannan by Syngenics. The rest are vitamins. I’ll report how it goes.

Why don’t people listen. The clerk at the store was asking about my food choices and how things taste and stating she needed to lose weight. I’m giving her information on things to start and she had blinders on. "I can’t eat breakfast. I eat once a day at about 1 in the afternoon." You can forget the thought of exercise. People make blanket statements, like "I need to lose weight." It’s one thing to say it among the rest of the out of shape people but when ideas are offered, why can’t they hear? The lady next to her was bigger and was eating from a bag of Fritos. (no offense Frito Lay people, that is my favorite chip if I still ate them). She said she needed to lose weight too. You think. Maybe I have become a fitness snob. ;0)
Now let me say, I’ve done the rollercoaster on the scale. But what ever moment I said I need to lose, I absorbed information. (The down times, I guess I forgot the information.;0()
I now weigh what I did both at 15 and at 34, 168lbs. At 15, I thought I was fat. (I wasn’t.) I lost weight down to 135lbs. (5′10", large frame), At 34, I thought I was hot, cardio strong but just curvy. Now, I am a new improved 168. I’m getting that upper body V shape, strong arms and shoulders, slimming waist. I still need work, admittedly. But I say all this to say I have a very different mindset. Talk about a lifestyle change.
