Back down to 87kg. Haven’t had as much time to eat

February 14, 2008

so I’ve dropped the weight again now. I can make all the excuses but the honest truth is I bought a BMW M3 and lets just say I’m having a great time;)

Doesn’t take much to drop back.

February 9, 2008

I didn’t sleep one night last week and didn’t eat much one day after work commitments kept me up. It really doesn’t take much to drop the weight. Not having the time to eat regularly I’ve switched off carbs intake and will probably try to use it to my advantage and at least drop a percent or two of fat (back to 5%).
I’m back to 88.1kg and probably may go lower after spending much time with work. Also a little occupied with organising a new set of wheels (car). Not too concerned as it’s good to have other interests outside bodybuilding. My current interest is cars (other than women but they’ve always been there:)

Made progress

January 31, 2008

this week. Had a huge back workout this morning, doing shoulders tomorrow night, then it’s a day off on Saturday Phew…and I need it!!
Took a reading this afternoon and weighed in at 88.9kg with bodyfat (scales) at 5.7%. I guess the bulking is working but I shouldn’t call it bulking as my bodyfat dropped as I gained. I’ve been eating like a mad man and I think it’s working. Phew….Believe me when I say I’m glad it’s only shoulders tomorrow and a day off Saturday. It’s not the training I need a break from, it’s the eating. All the eating is so exhausting/a pain. I haven’t gone more then 2.5 hours without food during waking hours over the last week. I’m going to eat a little less to give my digestive system a bit of a break then start again in a day or so. Will try to hold 88kg from this point on. If I can have a nice break from eating and not go under 88 I should have no trouble getting over 89kg in the weeks ahead. P.S never been over 90kg so this year will be interesting if I can manage to not get injured/sick. I think the key will be rest/the days off. I’m trying to be a little smarter with recovery now/changing my workout/bodyparts around as required re: depending on how each muscle is looking/feeling.

Introducing Me

January 28, 2008

Well it’s about time I put a face pic on this site. This is me (taken tonight in Sydney Australia).

Currently bulking a little/trying to add a few more quality pounds.

I’ve been back into full training (more intensity/eating)

January 24, 2008

for a few weeks now. I should have posted earlier and I’m sorry if anyone looked at my profile and was curious what had happened to me.

I’ve made great progress and near my short term peak now. Took a measurement today and I’m 6% @ 88.4kg which isn’t a bad weight for a natural. Just need a few more kilos and I may just have a crack at competing (novice show or something:)…we’ll see …I need more posing practice though (and I have no experience at all re: tanning etc).

There’s only one way to judge progress ……..

October 13, 2007

Strip down to your underwear, take a photo,  and see if you can get some comments from the other posters on the forum. OK so this is me after the last bodybuilding phase I went through with all the eating and tracking bodyfat and weight. In my eyes the progress is in my legs. I’ve added the missing size in my legs(outer quad sweep and upper hams) to make the package more complete. It’s interesting that after cutting up a little I haven’t gotten any heavier but project a thicker, more complete package now. This is me at 86kg (so there is plenty more muscle I can pack on before I go over 90 at under 5%….and I will get there..I have the time….). Will maintain this build for a while during summer(AUSTRALIAN SUMMER)  and do the bulking again later.

Looking on the bright side.

August 29, 2007

I always look just as good lighter and I’ll get to eat several weeks of food all over again. Ate Thai, pizzas, icecream, cheesecakes …you name it…to get the last lean gain to above 88 kgs. LOL.

That’ll teach me a lesson

August 28, 2007

for writing "lifetime of health and fitness" on my bodyspace profile.

Well I’ve fallen ill with another strain of the flu (or as my doctor tells me)….will get all blood tests done in a few days just to be on the safe side though.

This is a bodyblog, completely transparent to all, so there’s no hiding progress or lack of…

Guess I’ve just had some seriously bad luck this year. The moment I make progress, I get struck down my illness. I put my heart and soul into that last lean bodyweight advance. It’s very disheartening to fall ill again and have to start all over again. Haven’t trained for 2 days now and still feeling sick today. Not sure how long this will last but certainly not looking forward to seeing the losses again.

Worth noting I’ve gone for years without getting sick!!

Well I know one thing, I DON’T QUIT WHEN i HAVE A SETBACK. You’ll see that I actually come back harder after a setback.  This one included. Looking forward to posting again when I’m feeling better. Hoping I don’t fall back to under 85 kgs (but I guess the duration of the illness will determine the weight loss).

Yes they are real stats.

August 23, 2007

I have daily weight measurements for the period december 2003 - April 2006 There are periods during that time when I missed measurements but it’s almost daily. It’s a lot of data. I have it all in a spreadsheet. I was practically anorexic (weighing only 66kg at 6ft 2 inches tall). It happens:(   I’ve started placing a few values into my stats on this site,  but will add more when I have some spare time. I just wanted to add the start date and a few numbers along the way to give an idea of where I’ve come from. I guess I just woke up one day and realised I had to do something about it (my weight). This is an example of what can happen when a bodybuilder gets injured and can’t train as much. Some just gain weight, I did the opposite and ate less. You wake up one day and realise you have to do something re: too thin/weak/sore joints from no nutrition etc. I started eating again and the impulse was to start hitting the weights again(to burn off what you’ve eaten). Although my injuries were still there at that time, I ignored the pain and through some miracle my body gradually healed itself(over the years of training that followed) as I gained weight.

My story demonstrates how destructive and constructive the sport of building(and exercise/fitness) can be.
