Even though I have been dieting since 22 weeks out, my journey will begin this Saturday. I will be 16 weeks out from my show. I have dropped roughly 15 lbs so far. I was 199 when I started and 12.54% body fat. At 16 weeks out I am 186.6 lbs and 9.3% body fat. I feel very good and my trainer and I think the progress is going good and steady, holding most of my muscle so far. I have however had about 1 cheat a week, but I am a ways out. That is why at 16 weeks I will become a machine. I will not cheat, I will think about this show 24 hours a day because I am determined to do well.
All things aside are going great! My training has been superb. I haven’t missed a workout yet. However, I did end up with a nasty flu a week ago. I think I was overtraining. Anyways, just wanted to update my progress to those who have chimed in the past. So, take care, train hard, eat smart, and GROW!!!!

So I just finished week 1 of my extended pre-contest diet and I must say I am satisfied so far. The day I started I weighed 201 lbs. and after week 1 I was 192. I am on a low glycemic diet so I also know that most is water but I feel good. Doing 2000 calories a week aerobic exercise and training 5 days a week. My calories are 3342 kcal per day with the same foods every day for one week.My nutritionist says this is repetative but at least you know exactly where you made a mistake if you do. I understand but I still have good flavor. I even have a healthy chili I eat once a day! All in all I feel great and am now very motivated to finish this goal. 21 weeks to go and I can’t wait for the end results on stage July 18,2009. See ya next week with an update. I will post pictures in the beginning of March.

So I started my pre-contest diet this week. I thought it would be tough to start but the food I am consuming is very appetizing. I eat the same six meals for one week than switch so I don’t get bored. I feel great, but I have dropped 7 lbs in 3 days so I think calories needed to be added. All in all feeling good, looking to upload some new photos in the next two weeks so stay posted.

I recently hired former Mr. America 1990 to do my diet for my first show. I will be doing the 2009 Natural Michigan in July. We both decided to start contest prep as soon as possible because I have never been that low with bf%. I am totally stoked and ready to begin. I have never been too technical with my diet( I do eat clean, not junk food, at least not too much) but to turn it into a science is interesting. Counting calories, nutrients, how much cardio I do will be like nothing I have ever done before but for the last 5 years I have said I was going to compete and always came up with a reason not to. This time is different, I am sick of not following through and am now determined to do this.
This week I am to burn 2000 calories with cardio and follow the diet to a T. I can’t wait. The finishing touches are being done and I should have my diet in hand tomorrow. I do not want to fail, I will not fail, and I will come into this show looking great, hopefully edging out my training partner in the process. If anyone reads this, give me your feedback and experiences because frankly going from dieting not so strict to dieting hardcore for 20 weeks is scary to me. Oh yeah, I am hoping to come into the show as a middleweight around 172-174 lbs. Hopefully I can also pick up my lagging back and chest to really complete the package!!!!! I will blog again next week to let you all know how I am feeling and the diet is going. Thanks for listening!

I want to compete but i fear i really need help with my diet. i eat clean now however, i dieted consistantly for 11 weeks only to go from 13-12% bodyfat. I think with my bodytype, macronutirients needs to have a professional opinion. I live in southeatern michigan so anyone not to steep in price but is very reputable. Thanks for any input.
