i’m finally up to 315 on incline. i’m not doing 8 reps yet, but hopefully i’ll be there next week. i’m doing 100 lb. dumbbells on incline fly, and they’re heavy. they pull on my biceps a lot, especially on my left one. i have to keep my arms bent a little more than i used to, but i think it’s worth it to go this heavy.
that said, i didn’t do crap on tris yesterday. i just ran out of gas by the time i got there. it was terrible. i actually cut my workout short since i was so weak. that sucked. i’m going to up my carbs today before my workout and see how it goes.

i was sick with the flu all last week, so i couldn’t go to the gym. i lost 15 pounds in the first few days. i started forcing as much food as possible down the fourth day to try to stave off my body from cannibalizing itself anymore that it already had. that was a good time.
i’ve felt really weak, but i went ahead and went in today. it was chest and tris. i typically start on incline, and i’ve been doing my last set at 295 for 6-8 reps. i was looking forward to hitting `10 so i could bump up the weight to 315. six plates on incline would rule. but today i decided to use the smith machine since i wasn’t sure how much i would get up, and i guess as silly as it sounds i was embarrassed to ask for a spot at a weight less than what i’ve been doing. that’s all the more funny since no one, not even the very few guys bigger than me at my gym, are doing my weight. i surprised myself by getting 295 for four reps. actually, i don’t really know how the smith machine works in terms of weights. i think the bar is only 25 pounds instead of 45, so i guess it was only 275. and, of course, the weight is guided so you don’t have to balance the bar, but, even so, i don’t think that’s too terrible. incline flys were with 70 pound dumbbells instead of 80’s but that’s not the end of the world either. overall, it wasn’t terrible. not great, mind you, since i did in fact go down in everything, but it wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be, so that’s good.
hopefully i’ll be up to my proper weight next week, and, more hope here, i’ll go up in weight the week after that. fingers crossed.
back is tomorrow. i’m worried about that. honestly, i still feel tired and weak. i think i might skip deadlifts. i don’t think it’s a terrible idea to not kill yourself one week after you were so sick you lost 15 pounds. at least that’s what i keep telling myself so i don’t feel like an enormous pussy.

sunday night i started feeling bad. it turns out i had the flu. four days later i’m better, but i lost 15 pounds, mostly within three days. talk about shitty. i can’t describe my frustration. i want to smash things.
everything sucks.

i’m up to 295 on incline for six reps. i really think i’ll get up to 315 in the next few weeks. that will be one goal hit.
i finally weighed in at 250 last night. that’s my heaviest, but it’s not really a true weight, and i know it. but you have to hit it at night before you can hit it early. i think i’ll be there in a few weeks as well.
bigger and stronger.

i’m gradually making improvements. i’m up a few pounds in weight, but i’m definitely down in bodyfat. that’s good. my arms are finally at 18". it’s ridiculous that it took this long to get them there, but i’ve finally hit that mark. unfortunately, it’s pretty clear that my arms will need to be 20" before they look big at all. that’s what happens when you have arms longer than everyone else, i guess.
i’m working.

for the next couple of months i’m going to focus almost exclusively on inclines on chest day. i’ll still do some flat work, but incline is definitely going to take priority. my upper chest really needs to fill out. so no more going up in weight on flat. i’ll guess we’ll see what i start doing on incline bench since i’ll be doing that first. i’ve been lifting 245 on my last set. maybe i’ll work up to 315 on there. that would be cool.

my workout started out bad. i was hoping to go up in weight on bench, but i didn’t even get up to 335. i just ran out of gas completely at 315 on my fifth rep. i did another set at the same weight, and it was even worse. but then i just sailed through my incline weight getting up 245 for 10 reps on the last set. i don’t know. weird.
i was really frustrated by the time i was doing tris. the gym was ridiculously crowded, and it made doing my exercises a real pain. i never got to do skullcrushers at all. frustrating. it made my time run long too. i was in there for two hours.
again, frustrating.

i squatted 365 for 6 reps today. five of those were good reps, but one was really only half. i don’t have anyone to spot me, so i can’t go to failure. i might have squeezed out a couple more reps, but i didn’t want to chance it. still, i feel pretty good about my squat.

i’m doing hany rambod’s fst-7 training regimen for the next month. i did it last week, and the pumps i got on the last set were ridiculous. i’m hoping that after a month i’ll have some sort of measurable results to let me know if i should keep this up for a while.
i’m doing arms twice a week now. i was doing back as i thought it was my most lagging part, but i’ve switched to arms. it’s not that i’m completely happy with my back, but i have made some progress, and my arms now seem to be the body part furthest behind. well, that and my calves, but i’ve been doing calves twice a week. i might go up to three times a week if i don’t see some demonstrable increase in size very soon.

my whole body is sore from this new regimen, especially my calves. that’s a good thing. i’ve had a hard time making my calves sore, and they certainly haven’t been growing, so hopefully this will spur a little new size.
squats always leave my lower back tight the next day, and today is no exception. i think i should soak a little at some point today.
