I took a week off of lifting this week to let my body heal a bit. I’ve been training consistently for 17-18 weeks with no break. My joints are feeling every day of that too. This past Friday I hit 201 lbs body weight. I’ve put on roughly 30 pounds since August, about 10 pounds a month! My goal is to get around 208-210 by early Feb ‘08 and then its time to get shredded. I’m planning to compete in May and June, both national qualifiers. I am also trying to line up one or two photoshoots pre/post.

Yeah, it has been awhile since I updated my blogs but it doesn’t mean I’ve eased up on training. I reached a peak of about 182 lbs and around 13.5% bodyfat. I could not take eating all the food I had being in my bulk (Even though it was healthy) anymore. Summer will be here before you know it. I’ve cut back to about 177lbs and lost a pretty good percentage of fat. I hope to get down to about 7 or 8% for the summer and stay above 170lbs. I have kept all my size so far. Training hard and eating healthy really does pay off.
I’m stronger than ever right now. I concentrate on each individual rep rather than worrying about the whole set. It works too. I wouldnt say that you shouldnt worry about how many reps you have completed, but just don’t make it your main focus/concern. All my reps are now in the 8-15 range to really solidify my muscle.
I have almost an entire year before I plan on competing again. I am going to enjoy every last bit of it, but no game playing. I want to qualify for nationals…I’m going to qualify for nationals.
Till next time..

So I just thought I’d give a little update. Since my competition back in Sept (23rd) I have gained a sizeable 25 lbs and most of it muscle. I am staying leaner than I ever have before in a bulk. Im now tipping the scale around 168-170. Hell yeah! Im loving the work out schedule and nutrition plan Brian Chamberlain gave me. Im gaining size, strength, and knowledge like crazy.
I knew my gains would taper off about 3-4 weeks after my competition but I’m now what, a solid 6-7 and the end is nowhere in sight!
On a side note I’m happy to have accomplished one long term goal, not to just say that I could but because I can. I hit 1000 lbs on a 60 degree leg press machine for 8 last week. Keep the sweat pouring and train balls to the walls!
Till next time : )

This week has been outstanding. I’ve kicked some serious butt on every set of every exercise I’ve done. I’ve set a couple records for myself this week…
Tuesday: Legs - I demolished Leg presses, hack squats (315lb, butt touching the floor), leg extensions, vertical leg press (315 for eight )
Thrusday: Back - I haven’t deadlifted since I started dieting down for my contest 4 months ago. Yesterday I jumped back into taking it easy the first couple sets and then pumped out 315lb for 4, 1 min pause, 315 again for 3. YEAH! T-Bar rows (225 for 6), Hammer Rows (450 for 6)
Today is shoulders and traps. I’m feeling the pain from the whole week, but no pain no gain. Pain is weakness leaving the body. I hope my gains continue to increase as my training gets more intense. IT’S TIME TO GROW BABY!

So Brian and I met up this past week. He supplied me with a mass gaining nutrition plan and training schedule to follow for 1 month. After that we will check my progress and switch things up if we have to. I excited to pack on some hard muscle. I’m very dedicated to this whole and can’t thank Brian enough for taking me under his wings. TIME TO GROW!

Just a quick post, but I am in the works of setting up a nutrition and workout schedule with IFBB Pro Brian Chamberlain. I’m really excited to get started and I’m looking forward to the results yet to come. How many teens have the opporunity to train with a pro?
