Ode to Lifting Chalk
Thursday, December 27th, 2007So i started deadlifting again. I’ll never use straps cuz i would rather gain the grip strength than worry about lifting more weight, but what i would kill for right now would be some lifting chalk. God i love that stuff. My college gym had it on hand all the time, but alas i am no longer a college student. They had the real fine powdery stuff too, not the blocky chunks. You could get your hands covered real nice and evenly with the stuff and your grip would never give out. I tried using a hook grip, but my fingers still slip from sweat and skin oils. So my deadlifting suffers from the lack of this key ingredient to strength training. I’ll have to add this to my priority list….stock up on lifting chalk.
