Side shoulder ache

September 1, 2007

I got up this morning thinking that I would go for my workout in the afternoon but when I woke up I felt a intense feeling of stiffness around my neck shoulder. Whenever I would tilt my head up it would hurt. I have been applying deep heat products for the past day and I hope it gets better by tomorrow. I cannot wait to get back in the gym to do my arms day tomorrow.
I guess its the way that I slept last night as the day before I did not even exercise.

Anyway shit happens and you have just got to deal with it.

Its Thursday today and I cannot wait till the coming Monday because that is the time that I will be starting my next workout. As you guys would know, I am following the Triphase Workout and in that workout after every 9 weeks the author suggests that the trainee should take a break. So I am on my 1 week break now. I started on Monday and end this coming Sunday. I feel amped already just thinking about it. I want to break out of my bench plateau and bring my chests, back and arms up!
I feel that lifting weights and going through the whole routine really changes a person physically(obviously!) and mentally. After working out seriously for almost a year now, mentally I have become much more stronger and my strength physically has rocketed to new levels. I know that when the time comes for me to work( as I am still studying at the moment) , its going to be a hard and bumpy road coping with this regime and work itself. But yes I can do it and no one is going to tell me otherwise!

During the past few days,  I came across Milos Sarcev’s videos on bb.com and they are sure great as hell. I feel quite stupid reason being only after 1 year have I found the correct method in performing a bench press.

My workout yesterday was intense and the pumps were so insane I felt that my lats, chest and forearms were just going to burst open wide. I performed all the exercises as how Sarcev said in the videos and I left my ego at the door of the gym. I think my my form was impeccable( not flattering myself). I did not go heavy but I used a quite a few variations of moving the weight up and down such as slowly pushing it up and letting it down fast and vice-versa.

So I just want to thank The Fit show and Milos Sarcev for their time and the uploading of those vidoes!

A very encouraging read!

August 8, 2007

The other day I was on the forum and I came across Mr Aries’s journal and I must say that it is so inspiring.

I managed to get what Mr Aries said in one of his many influential and inspiring posts

‘If you’ve weighed your chicken boob 1000 times on a scale before, learn to eye ball it..

If you look fat in the mirror, then it doesn’t matter if you test out to be 10% bf or 20% bodyfat.. If you look fat, YOU ARE.

Don’t worry about your bench press.. It doesn’t matter if it’s 100lbs or 350lbs.. The real question is this: is the bench press going up from week to week?

It doesn’t matter what diet you are on or what it is called.. If you are making progress, keep it.. If not, change it.

Just cuz you are eatting 4000 calories a day doesn’t mean you should be gaining weight.. If you are burning 4000 calories a day, a 4000 calorie diet isn’t going to help you grow SHIET.

Whether you are a mesomorph, endomorph, or ectomorph, who cares? Either you look good or you don’t.. Finding out which type of body you have gets you nowhere.. All it does is add another wrinkle of frustration on your forehead.

If you miss a workout, make it up later. If you miss a dose of supplements, don’t lose sleep over it. If you go over calories one day, enjoy the cheat day. If you under-eat one day, consider it a job well done.

If you gain 2lbs one day, or lose 2 lbs in one day, there’s only one thing wrong: you should stop stepping on that dayum scale everyday.

If you benched 280 last week and this week you can only get up 260, don’t have a heart attack over it. Consider this: Sh*t happens… Just try it again next time.

If you are taking a fat burner but not losing weight, don’t blame the supplement, blame the diet. If you are taking a bulking supplement but not gaining weight, do the samething.’ Mr Aries

This outlook is one of the most positive things that I have read in my entire life. It has definitely made me want to work harder not only in the aspect of bodybuilding but in everything I do! Thanks Mr Aries!

Assesing my workout

August 6, 2007

I have decided that for the next 6 weeks I will replace barbell bench presses with dumbbell bench presses. I have been having this nagging problem where my left side of my chest is not as full and muscular as my right, which is obviously is very irritating. I therefore at the moment have quite a unbalanced chest.

As for squatting, since I`am at a gym which is more for the occasional sports enthusiast it therefore does not have a squatting rack. I am always forced to literally lift bar over my head an put it on my traps to squat which eventually becomes very dangerous because I have to lift 40Kg in the air. I therefore switched to using dumbbells for squats which I know is not as effective. Do you guys out there have any good suggestions

Training in a whole has been great actually, by utilizing the Triphase Program I have increased the size of my arms! Most of my t-shirts are getting tight around the sleeves which feels awesome. Overall my size has gone up a little which is great!. I believe that one should take training in small steps and the eventual product would be massive.

I have also been greatly motivated by all the people on bodyspace especially all the top ten profiles for both men and women. The more I look at their profiles the more amped up I feel about my next workout!
