Progress? Few steps back, temporarily
Lot's of changes...started having difficulty staying on track with the diet or clean eating early spring. I am such a sugar addict and little by little I let it back in, after 2 really strict unwavering years. Didn't have a significant impact on my weight but really made no progress. Did clean it up again toward the end of summer and went on a re-feed as others kept telling me I needed to given how hard and heavy I was training. Well it worked as I put on a solid 4 lbs of muscle that wouldn't budge with the many fluctuations. Then I decided to have a tummy tuck because despite all my efforts, after losing almost 100 lbs and 2-1/2 years of killing myself in the gym AND the kitchen, the loose skin wasn't going anywhere. So 25 days post-op and I got clearance to start back at the gym light. Day 1 was Saturday-Treadmill, no incline, 3 mph. Weights? Arms, chest &back (no legs until 8 weeks and no abs until 3-6 months). So far I have done bi's, tri's (lying on the bench and then getting back up were the MOST challenging part). Feels good to be back but will be a slow process and I feel like I lost all my muscle (which I know I didn't because it's not even a month and I kept up with my protein shakes and BCAAs and other aminos from Day 1 post-op. Still, it's an opportunity to rethink the training, change it up once I am back fully. The eating? Lots of processed foods two weeks pre-op (stress eating) and have been grazing through the sugar fields intermittently since surgery. I need to regroup and it's not happening. That said, the surgery was a success, no regrets and LOVE the results already, scar and all. I was luck, good recovery so far, no pain in the beginning, just really sore so no pain pills needed. Had my appetite Day 2! LOL.
