Getting back with the fit crowd

October 27, 2007

What’s up everybody? Well, it has been quite a while since i have been on this site, but much worse since I have truly been in the gym! Dammit I fell off the wagon. I have been experiencing serious commitment issues since the suumer. `I let one small ailment knock me totally off my goal! So now it is time to kick it back into high gear. I am back home from deployment, and I have found it a challenge to stay away from all of the crap that I enjoy eating.

To say the least, I am full of excuses why I can’t do this, and basically a bunch of bull crap. So I m getting back into gear and getting my act together. I am reaching out to my fit friends here on bodyspace for support. I am back to my original goal of losing 30lbs. I will get there!

I’ve fallen, but I gots to get up!

July 12, 2007

What’s up? It has been a while since I last blogged. The reason for that is because I thought it was pointless, but I have come a long way, and I am going to keep advancing even more.

However, before I do that, I must come clean. I have fallen off of the wagon! In the past couple of months since I have been working out and developing a lifestyle of fitness, I have noticed a change in my body as well as energy level. It is pretty intoxicating to see fat and flab melt right in front of your eyes. Also since I am in the Navy, I am subject to the bi-annual fitness test. So a couple of days ago I passed the pt and decided that it was time for me to let loose and eat a little! Well boy did I suprise myself! So the following is a list of the things that I have eaten since 7/10/07:

7/10/07

Breakfast: cheese eggs, bacon, cereal

Lunch: Tamale Pie, corn

Dinner: 3 ham slices, stuffing, cranberry sauce, cheeseburger, french fries

Late Dinner: BK big fish sandwich, fries, orange soda

7/11/07
Breakfast: 2 eggs over hard with cheese over 2 pancakes w/syrup, bacon

Lunch: Cheeseburger, fries

Dinner: 6 or 7 slices of pizza, one 20oz squirt soda, 20oz crush soda

Late Dinner: 2 hotdogs covered with chilli and corn chips

07/12/07

Breakfast: cheese eggs, bacon, fruit

Lunch: BBQ pork chop, mixed veggies, 2 slices of cake.

Dinner: honey glazed duck, roasted potatoes, glazed carrots

Dessert: 2 scoops of ice cream, one huge slice of cake!

DAMN! I gots to get up! That was an ass ton of food I ate in a matter of 2 days. I took in thousands of calories, but I enjoyed every fu*king minute of it! I will get my ass in gear and get back on the wagon. Hell I might even drive that sum bitch! I am using rather harsh language, but I have to motivate myself. I did get a good workout in, but I have reached my tolerance as far as my slack eating habits. yeah yeah, I did good on my PT, so what? Who cares. All I care about is meeting my goals and developing the best and fittest body. Peace.

Dedication in the face of Temptation

April 18, 2007

Today I find myself in Salvador, Brazil. One place on God’s green earth that is next to paradise. It is no Rio by a long shot, but it is Brazil! After almost a month out to sea on a sardine can with a very  expensive navigation and weapons systems, a brother needed to blow off some steam.

So I get myself together, and finally make it off the ship. My whole goal for being here was to taste the finest steak in Brazil and that I did. It was delicious, juicy, beautiful, tasty…hey what was I talking about? Oh yeah, the steak. it definitely satisified my taste buds. Other than that, it is hard to find exciting things to d in Salvador considering we didn’t hit the strip until 5pm. I was back on the ship at 8. I can officially say that this port visit was a drag, becasue I have duty tomorrow, which means I can’t leave the ship at all, and we are pulling out soon after that. So much for Salvador.

Anyway, I find myself back in the sardine can, and here I am. I could have easily made the excuse of not working out, because of my being on dry land. Yet, I will remain committed to my goal and see it through. I want to thank my wife for encouraging me to make it happen. She just want to feel these sexy abs and rock hard muscles! I will make sure that it happens. So I am on my way to workout.

Here is a rundown of my diet today.

Breakfast

Protein Shake

Lunch

Tunafish with mustard and mayo

2 slices of wheat bread.

Dinner

20 oz steak with tomato, onion and herbs

Rice

I am in recovery

April 16, 2007

I am starting this week fasting. It is mainly a fast for my spiritual diet, but I need to give my body a break so when I get back to the business of transforming this body, I will start with a clean slate. Yesterday was a particulary stressful day. It started out good. I got to sleep in until 930am. I went to church, and delivered the word. So far so good. My day was very peaceful. I even went outside of the ship and walked around the missle deck to get me some frosh air. Then it began. I was up on the bridge talking with the Officer of the deck when suddenly we lost all power to the ship! Nothing more scary that having absolutely no control over our vessel! So I had to go around and check to see if my equipment was fine. The next scary thing is not having any means of communication so that people will know what is going on.

We finally found out that we had a fire and it was in the part that controls and converts our electricity. Not a good thing. Anyway, after about 4 hours of that, it began to get hot and the sun was going down. This all happened around chow time, so this is where the real point of todays entry begins.

For breakfast I ate:

Salad with italian dressing

omelet with everything

4 strips of bacon

English muffin

Skipped lunch

For Snack I ate: 1 bag of cashews

For dinner I ate:

2 Italian sausage

1/2 cup of rice

1 brownie

3/4 cup of Jello with fruit.

I did not workout, and I only got 4 hours of sleep.

Starting My Blog on a Cheat Day

April 14, 2007

Well this is my first of many posts to my blog. I welcome all comments and advise. I will use this as a means of journaling my daily eating and workout routine. Currently I am deployed on a small U.S. Navy ship so the food choices and workout space is not the most desirable, but I will work with it.  Anyway, I allowed myself to cheat today. In the past couple of days I have been going low carb to get my body to start burning fat. Is this a good thing, or is there anything I can do differently. As far as today, All I ate:
1 Pancake w/ syrup and butter
3 strips of bacon
Cheese omelet.

8 oz water

Hey confession is good for the soul!

Lunch sucked for me on the ship today. I ate:
2.5 Servings of Starkist Lemon Pepper Tuna
2 Slices of wheat bread
2 TBSP Mayo
1TBSP Mustard
8 oz water

Much better

Dinner sucked as well! I ate:
-One sucky Panamanian Hotdog w/bun, mustard
(The thing was white in the middle, and weird shaped)
-Baked beans
-Cole Slaw
-Diet Pepsi

Snack:
-2 small bags of popcorn
-Diet Pepsi

Postworkout:
-Protein Drink
