Torn Rotator Cuff…

Well, as Ron Simmons would say from the WWE… "DAMN!!!!" Yeah, I’ve torn my rotator cuff… And part of my trap and my rhomboid… The good news is.. I don’t need surgery… The bad news is… I can’t use my right arm for at least another week… (For those of you that have been following… Not using my arm is a bad thing…) However… On a brighter note… I can still hit my legs… After all the pain killers wear off… *L*

[b]FINALLY!!![/b] I can finally write on here!!! (It’s been 2 darned months!!!) Now then… Let’s clear some air, and some questions… *Clearing throat for emphasis* Now then… Let’s get caught up… Jiminy, it’s been darn near 2 months…? Okay… There’s evidently been some misconceptions about my feelings, and statements about my last show… I’m here to clear that up now, and leave no doubt… I damned near quit bodybuilding, after the pre-judging… I was ready to just pack everything up, and go home… (*L* Just like a little kid, taking his ball and going home…) I looked like I never even had heard of the word "diet"… The day before… I looked good… (Emphasis on good…) The day of… I looked 9 weeks pregnant… Now who do I blame…? At the time… I’d have blamed you, your brother, your great-great-grandmother… But certainly not me… But, truth to tell… I was the [b]FAT GUY[/b] onstage, once again… Now… After weeks and weeks of dieting, working out, watching this that, and the other… Who can I blame…? [b]ME…[/b] Now then… As far as the time I had at the show…? [b]EVERYBODY[/b] was [b]FANTASTIC!!![/b] The show was great, the competitors were great… I made some great friends… [b]THAT’S[/b] what it’s all about… And, [b]Kevin and Denise James[/b] put on the greatest show I’ve seen to date, and my hat goes off to them… They’ve worked hard to educate, train, and promote [b]EVERYONE[/b] that they’ve come into contact with…!!! Great and AWESOME people!!!

Friday was cardio and abs with the Puppy Power walks…
Saturday was Puppy Power walks with a trip down to Oregon to see Rage do some serious damage at the NPC Oregon Bodybuilding Championships…
Now we get to Sunday… I promised insanity, so it’s time to deliver…
Started off with a 3 mile Puppy Power walk with the 30 lb vest, wearing a sweatshirt and sweat pants… Followed by 4 hours of mowing lawn in the same attire… (For those of you that don’t know… I live on a hillside with a 45-60 degree angle… I have an acre…)

Why…?

As most of you know, I’ve been having a crisis of faith in myself, lately… Due to the progress pics I had taken, and some comments from a few other people, incuding myself… Well, last night at the gym, I continued to mull one question over and over, again… Why am I doing this…? Ego? Personal accolades? To be a “winner”? Why…? Then, just as there was a loud crash and explosion at the gym and the power went out… I got my answer… Or answers, I should say… Because I love the feeling of going to the gym, getting the pump, and sculpting the best ME that I can… So… That said, I will compete, this year, and my only competition that I care about beating is the ME from last year… I’ll worry about challenging for a top spot next year, but this year will give me another year of experience onstage… This grand epiphany was interupted by the gym staff telling me, that I had to leave, and that it was unsafe to workout in the dark… Screw ‘em!!! I still had one more set… And, I did my set and left… Knowing that I had my answers…

Doing A Lot of Soul Searching…

As I write this post, I’m a bit bummed… I took some progress pictures, and found myself severely disappointed… I’ve dropped weight, and body fat, but find myself nowhere near where I need to be for a contest… I could make excuses… Surgery, being number one… But no matter what, it doesn’t change the fact that I am just not where I feel I need to be… I’ve invested a lot of time, money, and effort… But that still doesn’t change facts… Between a lot of visceral fat, lack of chest and lat development, and retaining a lot of back fat I’m just not there… So, I’ll be doing a heavy duty mental inventory to decide what I will do…

Cardio Change-Up…

Well, this past weekend was less than stellar… So, it’s time to add some twists and turns to the cardio… I’ll still be doing the 2 sessions of puppy power walking on hilly terrain… But, I’ll be doing it with a 30 lb vest on… Days set aside just for abs and cardio are now being hit with Billy Blanks Ab Bootcamp and Billy Blanks Cardio Bootcamp… I’ll still be doing the treadmill on days I’m at the gym… The 50/50/75/100 carb split is still in effect… Hopefully this will change things around…

Eye Opener

Well… Last saturday was the first posing class of the season… And, got my bodyfat measured… 20%… I was confused, but not so confused… I’m way lighter than I was at this time last year, more vascular, more defined… But the huge bulge of my lower abdomen told the true tale… I’ve been hitting the cardio ( 2 sessions daily of 45-50 min of walking with the pups on hill terrain, and 45 min on the Dreadmill on days I’m at the gym…) I’ve been killing my abs (Granted my lower abs should be called flabs, but the top 2 rows aren’t toooo bad…) So, that comes with a new dietary breakdown, and news that nearly crushed me… Carbs are now broken down to a 50/50/75/100 split… So, 2 days in a row of 50, then a day of 75, then a day of 100 and repeat… But the "KILLER", was the news that I can’t even have Coke Zero… Due to the artificial sweeteners… Well, we all have our crosses to bear, and have had our perceptions of reality shattered… So, the only thing I can do is work harder, and nail it this year… BTW, 07 June my wife will be taking some progress pics of me, which I’ll post even if I look like crap…
