Walking like a Goblin

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

The day after another fun and glorious leg day, I find myself walking like a goblin for about a half hour after I get up. By that, I mean, unable to straighten my legs, and walking kind of hunched over. The pain is exquisite. Here’s how I wound up in this state:

Leg extensions: 4 sets for 20 reps (Warm-up)

Leg press: 1st set 20 reps, 2nd set 15 reps, sets 3 and 4 for 10 reps (Each set raise the weight by 2 plates) 5th set 50 reps (With a reasonable weight)

Leg extension: 1st set for 20 reps, 2nd set for 15 reps, 3rd and 4th sets 10 reps (drop the pin down one plate, each set, except for the 4th set drop it down 2 plates) 5th set 50 reps (Reasonable weight)

Seated and lying leg curls: Same as for leg extensions

Seated and standing calf raises: Same as for leg extensions

Try it, and see if you like it.

Hmmm….

Six Star Muscle Fuel has a new "Hardcore" Nitric Oxide booster that is VERY similar to Muscle-Tech’s NaNo X9. And, they now have hardcore creatine, protein, and fat burners. I wonder if the 2 companies are related, in any way. I’ve gotten the same results on the Six Star products, that I got on the Muscle-Tech. And, for a fraction of the price. But, I am now at a plateau, and am now considering trying Aplodan. That along with some nutritional, program, and other supplemental tweaks. I’m going to continue to try and bulk, until May 16th (The day after my birthday.). That will give me nearly 3 months for a cutting phase. Anyhow, until next time, take care, and shake the haters off!

Valentine’s Day Curse Continues…

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

Well, for the third straight year, the Valentine’s Day Curse has struck. My truck has an aversion to that day. 3 years ago, on my way home from work, the drive line on my truck dropped out. 2 years ago, on valentine’s day, my radiator blew. This year, the coolant bypass line split. Needless to say my other half is P.O.’d, I didn’t get to the gym or eat like I should, and despite my best intentions (I took the day off from work to avoid the curse) it was another miserable day. I got her a bouquet of roses, hand delivered them to her at work, a “cutesy” balloon, and a DVD of one of her favorite stand-up comedians. I got malnourished, bloody knuckles, a facefull of anti-freeze, and no gym time. Next year, I’m staying in bed! *L*

If I only had a chest…

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

It seems, that no matter what I do, I cannot get my inner pecs to fill out. Crossovers, narrower grip on my bench, isometric contraction, all equal nothing. My upper and outer pecs are doing nicely, but the inners are M.I.A. Maybe twice a week for a little bit on chest might be what I need.

Chicken legs Pt II

Monday, February 5th, 2007

After a couple of workouts doing between 20-50 reps for my "Chicken Legs", I’m starting to see some changes in landscape of my legs. And, I’ve added a new supplement called DOMS Ease, out of necessity. It’s bad when your patients ask if you need help walking down the hall. *L* But the workout and the supplement seem to be working. I’ve been doing 5 sets of leg extensions at 20 reps for warm-ups, followed by 5 sets of leg press, then another 4 sets of leg extensions with a fifth set being 50 reps. Then off to lying leg curls, seated leg curls, and finally seated and standing calf raises. Can you say "OUCH!?".

Tried something new

Thursday, February 1st, 2007

I was in the pro bb forum and reding the Lee Priest thread, I found a tip that he recommended for building arms. Talk about a large amount of volume. Well, I tried it last evening, and I haven’t felt this exquisite amount of pain, since I was first starting out. I’m trying to get as much water and nutrients into me, as I can. Still working the high rep route for legs, tonight (Yay! more pain!). Later, all.
