OK, so all this week, my new workout partner and I have been hitting the ol’ weights with an undeniable force. We are doing sets down to at least 5 with a bare minimum of 3. It has been truly a great feeling, one that sometimes I feel like why didn’t I go more heavy on my regular workouts. Well, anyway, I really know where I am as far as strength. Here are my MAX stats:
Seated Shoulder Press (with bar): 185 X 5
Seated Shoulder Press (hammer strength machine) 230 X 5
Bicep curl (machine seated) 140X8
Tricep pressdown (two pulleys) 80X12
Leg press: 1210 X 4
Leg curl (laying) : 155X8
Leg extension: 185X12
Tomorrow is chest then back on Friday.
Good luck in all your goals.

Just the other day, I was speaking to an elder gentleman on how day in and day out we come into this house of iron and literally punish ourselves with intense, grueling, workouts, leaving us out of breath, tired and sore in the morning. This is a means to ensure our heart is being worked sufficiently, muscles being utilized to prevent atrophy and as a means for some of us to get bigger, stronger and leaner, while others want the "tone" and the tightness. But maybe it’s just me, but when I am in the gym, I go all out, to the point where my muscles are fatigued and knowlingly did a great workout. But, am I the only one tired of seeing the same people in the gym with NO gains, NO losses, just staying the same size ALL the time??!! I go there for a purpose, not to socialize, not to have camraderie, but to bust my buttons and to get to my designated goal, while others congregate on the machines, I am in need of and carry long conversations about nothing, do us a favor and MOVE to the lobby and talk, gym is for the ones who are killing themselves to stay alive!

Well, I got back to the ultra heavy weights. Thought my eyeballs were going to pop out of their sockets. But totally shocked the ol’ quads yesterday! As I re-began my ripping, I am lifting heavier and losing bodyfat at the same time, so it is a good trade off. Trying to get back at 1215lbs for 15 reps, slow journey, but I WILL get back there, even if I have to limp there, LOL!

WOW, with plenty of new friends and plenty of new profiles, I still wonder what does YOUR profile really mean? Is it a self-description of your attitude, style, passion, fashion, a double identity of you as a superhero, imaginary character, where you once was, are now, or going to be? Some names are funny, some sad, some joyful, some weird, and some just simple. From the Alphagams to the Great Pix, to the King, the Lady, ForRealz, Jacked, Fit and Ms and all other great inspirators out there, keep on encouraging one another and giving that boost that we sometimes need, just to make out to the gym. Ask the ones who have been there, are trying to get there for guidance and a direction to go in. Some are striving for the competition stage and some just want to lose the weight to be happy again. We are all different, in all ways, yet still have that commonality of one mind for better health, better eating habits, better living and just setting our own goals and accomplishing them. We strive together as a family for support and glad to hear the compliments when we have achieved the goals. Thank you and I pray each one of you meet your goals!………………….MrBigGunz (MBG)

Well, back in 2000, had one of the best workout partners ever! Big Phil in VA Beach. Truly an awesome person who helped me get to the competition level I desired. But like all great things, it came to an end when I transferred for Operation Iraqi Freedom. But looking back, what are the benefits in having a workout partner. Whether it is male or female, as long as the professionalism is there, could be either one in my opinion. A workout partner will push you and allow you to go to your outer boundaries as much as possible. That mental security you have when doing bench, squats or whatever it is uncomparable. Also, a true workout partner will not you slack and you will keep them from slacking. For the past 7 years, workout partners came and went, but no one could ever be that "Big Phil". Truly missed.

Wow, it’s been over two months since my last blog. So I decided to write on leg day. I will start out and top off with 1120 pounds for 2-3 reps, but today will be chiseling, so, I drop back down between 720-840 for some 12-15 reps for 3-4 sets. I will hit the leg extension machine twice. Once with both legs, then again with a unilateral or single leg extension. Hit the leg curls twice. Both will be with both legs. I will attempt the Smith machine with low weight as a "burn-out" session. Hitting the outer and the "teardrop". Then, if I am able to walk out, will I be completely exhausted but yet satisfied. Keep on liftin’ !!………………..Gunz

Well today is my birthday. 39, wow, growing up this number seemed to be old. But, it’s not, actually, I don’t feel a day older than 19. Life is great and it is great to be alive. I thank all of you for the support I’ve gotten and just wanted to share my birthday with you. Thank you!
