I got on the scale last Friday, when I started out here, and I was 200 lb. After a few days of a much stricter diet I got on the scale today. I was 196 pounds. How could I loose four pounds in a few days? I think I need a few months of this strict calorie deficit diet to shed much of my unwanted fat. Hopefully if all goes well I can then really start to put on some real muscle. I am still puzzled to how I could be going totally wrong for the last eight years. I know one thing, I am going to start training with a ton more intensity….

After a night of frustration and self pity, I have come to the realization that I will not quit in my quest to be in shape. I am going to tear apart my whole program and diet, and start fresh, again. Having a bad attitude is not the way to get what you want. My first change will be to change my workout time. I did my workout at 5:30 am this morning and realized that it really isn’t working for me. I just can’t get the intensity that I want at that time in the morning. The reason why I chose to workout at this time was because of my schedule. I work full time, own an business, and have two kids to chase after. I guess I will have to fit the workout in after the kids go to bed or something like that. The next thing I have to work on is my diet. I am the cook in the house, so it shouldn’t be too hard to plan meals that are good clean meals. I do have some reservations about cooking myself something different than the family, but it might have to work like that. Finally, thanks to the two members who posted some motivational words….

I have just had one of the most disappointing nights of my life. I wanted to post a picture of myself in the progress section of my page. I took the picture, and was very taken back at what I have seen. This is the first image that I have seen of myself (without a shirt on) since I started training (1999). I was very disappointed to say the least. I have put many hours of hard work into my training, and have not had any real results to speak of. To make matters worse, it looks like I gained back most of the weight that I lost when I first started training. Where the hell is all the muscle that I should have packed on over the last 8 years? I am not a happy camper right now. I have tried dozens of different workout programs, but can’t seem to find one that really works for me. I have also tried many diet plans. Something has got to give here, somewhere. I would hate to give up on something that I really love to do, but what is the use if you cannot get the right results?????

Wow, this 5:30 in the morning workout is a really killer. I punished my legs this morning. Now I have to sit here at the computer all day. My workout felt pretty good today, which is an oddity when exercising so early. It is really hard to get a really, really good workout, because I just feel weak in the morning. I have becomed accustomed to this, but feal that the early am workouts are a huge contributor to my lackluster results thus far…

Wow, I can’t believe that Friday is finally here. What a looonnnngggg week. Not much to say today, but that I cannot wait to get out of this cell (work) today. Did a bit of walking this morning. About a mile and a half to be precise. The weather is beautiful today, so nice that it almost warrants another walk tonight.

Today has started a little better than yesterday. I got my workout in this morning. I have to find a better time to exercise. This 5:30 am stuff stinks. My legs are still hurting like mad from Tuesday’s routine. I started a new workout this week, so I guess the change really hit the muscles different. I started doing a three day split. Sunday: Incline Bench, 4 sets of 6 reps; Incline Row, 4 sets 6 reps; and Upright Rows, 4 sets 6 reps. Tuesday: Squats 4 sets 10, 10, 8, 8 reps; stiff deads, 4 sets 10, 10, 8, 8. Thursday: Flat Bench 4 sets 12,10,8,8 reps: Pullups four sets to failure; Military Press, four sets 12,10,8,8.

It has been a tough morning this morning. I had a really hard time getting out of bed this morning. I missed my workout today, which makes me like a hornet. The only good thing is that it is a cardio day, so it isn’t as big a deal to me. My legs are still wiped from yesterday morning’s workout anyway. I think I know why I am so tired this morning. Maybe it is because I had a long drawn out tax season. I filed over 200 returns this year, which is over 50 more than last year. It was a good season, but I am glad it is over.

This is my first blog, so I don’t really know what to write about. Maybe I will start with an little overview of my fitness progress. I have been working out for a long time. I started lifting seriously in 1999. I have been very disappointed thus far. I have tried numerous diets and exercise programs, but have not seen the best results. Actually, I am very frustrated at this point. I don’t know what keeps me coming back for more, especially because my results have been so mediocre. I guess I have not totally lost hope yet.
