Way to go. Good job! I’m 8 weeks out from trying to reach my goal of hitting the beach shirtless, so i am going with NO sugar or grains, even brown grains during this eight week span to see how it works. I feel my abs tightening and shaping up, but of course stubborn fat is hiding them. By doing this my body is forced to burn the remaining fat i have for energy. It may help me get under 10% bodyfat also

As the person before said, it is normal to go up and down a couple of pounds and even more for women (that time of the month and all that hormonal stuff) and as you are training with heavier weights....that right there is the key, you've gained muscle mass/lean mass not fat...and a couple of pounds is nothing to fret about really, could be excess water or even a meal that hasn't passed through your system yet...use the fit of your clothes, even the tape measure to see the difference...I've been lighter than I am now and not nearly as toned or slim/lean in the past simply because I was carrying more fat on my frame. I've just gained 2 pounds and I know it is muscle because my clothes are still as comfy and even a little looser than before in some places (apart from the legs, but that must be where I gained the lean mass perhaps?)

I'll share my personal experience:

Cycling a couple of lbs here and there is very normal. I personally cycle anywhere from 3-6 lbs daily based on water intake and they type of foods eaten.

Based on what you outlined if you have been working out with weights with more intesity you may have gained muscle mass, which weighs more than fat, so that's a good thing.

I would also recommend using a measuring tape to measure your success as well. Measure around your waist, hipsm chest, arms and legs. Sometimes the scale will not move but the shape of your body will.

Hope this helps

I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from everyone that I've communicated with on these boards. Hopefully I've encouraged someone at the same time, because at the end of the day that's what I'm here for. To motivate, and to be motivated and encouraged. Hopefully that person will give it another try!

I enjoy this site as well. There are a lot of serious fitness minded individuals here.
I''ve only came across one rude person but thank goodness for the blocking button.

I agree with you. I have found the people on BB.com to be very helpful. What I particularly like is the pursuit of a healthy lifestyle. I suppose there can be some real jerks on here. You have to be careful that the one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch. I suppose it won't be for everyone. I like it! I love my bb.com friends. We seem to have a lot in common.
