Physically Fit for a Momma

I would say I am physically fit for a momma of six but I want to be better than that.  I get so stressed out that I don’t see results quickly. My doctor told me not to worry so much about my weight, I have other things to think about like family. I do understand that but I want to look better. I guess one is never satisfied even when you get so many compliments from others. I hate to look back  and have thoughts of "Why didn’t I start all this sooner." I am only 38….hmm I’m still young enough to keep working. I get so motivated when I see others who are older and physically fit. That gives me so much motivation to keep going.

Um….ok?

I had a good day yesterday. Spent some quality time with all my kids Anyway my oldest said," Mom you are never going to get rid of that fat on the lower abs." Your going to have to get surgery." WHAT???? no I don’t think so! I’m still determined to get rid of this!! Plus I can’t afford surgery!!!! And she was shocked about my legs she thought I was way too musclur which she thought it was kind of gross. lol.   It’s ok.. as long as like my results. Again you can’t always please everyone but yourself.

I’m glad to be among people here who understand the fitness journies. We understand and motivate. Training & eating right is a big part of me.  

I mentioned to someone today I wanted to lose 20 pounds. They said, "Are you crazy you look just fine the way you are." "Aren’t you happy about yourself?"

Hmm.. hey I am very happy and content, I only want to better myself, what’s wrong with that? 120 is just healthy and fine with me.  :)

I found this article and thought I would post it. Great info about nutrition.  This site has a lot of great articles. I also like the info. they have regarding training of the abs. THe article mentions ab workout once a week is great to do since you work your ab muscles while performing other exercises.

Saturday Workout:

30 min. treadmill

Barbell Squats

Dumbell curls

Legs lifts 5 sets, 20 reps.

Legs: Seated Leg Press, Seated leg curl, Leg Extensions.

Arms: shoulder press, biceps curl, triceps press, chest press, pectoral fly/rear detold,

My Best Body Part~~

Oh yeah! The LEGS!!! I absolutely love training my legs! I see the most results! I wish I could say that about my abs, but hey I’ll take the legs! :P

BTW I finally got some good workouts in Thursday evening and this evening. I love the sweat, means I’m working!

Thursday Workout:

25 min eliptical

30 min. treadmill

Legs: seated leg press, and seated leg curl, Leg Extensions
Arms: shoulder press, biceps curl, triceps press, chest press, pectoral fly/rear detold,

30lbs and up. 3 sets, 10 reps.

 

Friday Workout:

15 min. eliptical

30 min. treadmill

Legs lifts 5 sets, 20 reps.

Legs: Seated Leg Press, Seated leg curl, Leg Extensions.

Arms: shoulder press, biceps curl, triceps press, chest press, pectoral fly/rear detold,

I’m going to try to get 3 days a week in the gym plus the walks during lunch hour.

Now home workouts have to be done. no excuses there.

No weight loss supps. for me.

I’ve decided to stay way from them. Now I feel better but I do worry about gaining all the weight back.

I will take protein shakes and vitamins. I guess all I can do is really watch what I eat, stick to the diet. 

Don’t make any excuses about the gym. I can still do some training at home and light exercises at work which I should do now instead of writing this blog! lol!

I am so irrated by people comments recently. We live in a society that critizes obese people and then we have those who think people with muscles are gross.  I’m getting tired of hearing, "Oh my gosh, they look freakish, they have to be on steroids!" What is wrong with muscles really? I can’t seem to understand.

So far I’ve been doing pretty well with my diet. Now my workouts have been suffering. It went from workouts everyday to 3 days, now it’s been once a week (Sunday evenings)!
I’ve become the baseball & softball mom during the evening weekly hours and it’s too much of a hassle to work out during my lunch hour.
I’ll try my best to get back into it because truthfully I need to trim down a bit.
Today was so beautiful out I decided to go for a walk during lunch hour.  Actually, the Mississippi river is right in front of where my job is located. I walked the riverfront walk/bike path which stretches 2 miles one way.  So now I’ve decided to do that rather than drive across town to the gym. At least I can get some cardio and fresh air!
I’m so determined for my abs to kick in which have been a struggle over the 2 years. This layer of fat has been the toughest obstacle ever!
Also, normally I get depressed if someone makes a negative comment but I’ve learned to ignore and move on. My (70 year old) mom mentioned I was getting too fat around my arms! lol! I told her it wasn’t fat but I was building muscle!! So crazy me flexed for her! She freaked out!   “Oh my gosh, you better not get like those ugly muscle ladies!” she said. 
So I’ve learned to never please anyone but you!  There are a lot of people who absolutely don’t understand what you are trying to accomplish and unfortunately it’s not worth explaining it to them.

I appreciate all the helpful advice from you guys. Now it’s time for the ladies…the female fitness gurus to speak their minds. We know what is best for our own bodies. I asked a male about being bloaty and what I could do but really didn’t get a good answer. lol. Us ladies know what we go through. I find it difficult to maintain a  healthy body due to the stuff we go through monthly. Guys just don’t understand.
