Return of the Mack

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Yep, I’m Back (for good I hope). After an 8 month hiatus, I’ve finally set my mind right to train again…. Actually, the scaled scared the shit out of as it tipped 105kgs and the fact that l might be fat again is doing me some good. Will add more later as I hit my weights.

Plateu Woe

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

OMG. I’m at 101KG for the past 2 odd weeks. I gotta bump up my cardio and pray that my knees can keep up. Maybe I should carb deplete on more days than just one.

It’s a new month, and I stood infront of the mirror to judge my weakness. Here’s a tiny list of them:
-my midsection is still flabby
-my chest still got them man-boobs
-my left shoulder is still smaller than my right

More is key, i guess. More cardio. More intensity. More motivation. More time.

Added Equipment

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

While me and Jay are helping each other, busting our asses to get in shape, he thought it’d be a good idea to bring in his dumbells to the office gym (since the max weight on the available dumbells are 22pounds). Having them around is a great thing. Now, we can do more exercises to hit our goals. Aren’t I a happy camper? Woot!

Treadmill Tales

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

God give me strengh…. Bless my knees

Hahahah, it’s cardio day again and I realised that I’ve picked up a small habbit. Due to my weight, the sound of me running on a treadmill might be heard differently by colleagues passing by the office gym (imagine the melodies of a construction site). I tend to switch on MTV, not listen to it (then I’ll plug in my headphones and stride to Jazz tunes), but to drown the pounding of my footsteps. Hahahaha, I feel kinda embarassed by it, but if it make me do my cardio, I’ll do it.

I manage to do 3.8KM in 35 minutes and felt kinda exhausted afterwards. Dang, am I a wuss or what? Anywho, It’s time for a post workout meal. Ciao

Boulders For Shoulders

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

By looking at the title, you know this is gonna be a shoulder post. Hehehehehe.

I always though I have large shoulders, but I realised that it’s just wide and not thick. I’m having lots of trouble hitting my rear delts. My only option (that I can think of) is to do reverse flyes on an inclined bench. The sad thing about that is, my forearms and elbows seem to give way long before any damage is done to the delts. Leaving me tired instead of worked out.

On another note, I’m starting to get sick of my job. I like my managers and workmates personally, but work wise, thing are getting too out of hand. I’m tired of having high workloads due to lack of staff and my managers giving the excuse of "it’s hard to find people to work the shift". A month or 2 is fine, but 8 ain’t. I’m so agitated about it and feel like shouting to all that speaks to me. I gotta quit.

No pain, more gain

Friday, January 26th, 2007

I took a rest day yesterday as I was feeling damn sleepy and my right elbow was hurting. I went to my doctor and she told me to lay off the heavy weights (lucky I don’t have to stop entirely). I guess I was trying to lift too hard, too heavy, too fast. "Leave you ego at home", they say. I should have listened to my own body signs.

Today, it’s chest and back again and I’m gonna take it light and substitute the weights with more reps and sets. Then another 30 minutes of cardio, maybe longer. I’m just yearning to get the fats off. Wish me luck.

Snooze

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

It happens… no matter how hard you try to avoid it, there will be days when you feel so sleepy and tired. I just didn’t get much sleep today. Maybe I was thinking too much prior to it, but the good thing is I didn’t let that stop me. I remember reading Jason’s blog about when he had the flu but did his workouts anyway. And if he can do it, so can I. That my friend is what I call "long distance inspiration". hehe….

Today was leg day and boy I was exhauted after the whole thing. I did higher weights with lower reps cause my legs are pretty small, in a way. Then I hit the bike for 35minutes. Ever since I’ve been on the bike for 30 minutes, I’ve lost a kilo. Hmm, I still don’t know if it’s fat or what. I guess I will have to wait for the calipers to arrive from bb.com… woot

The last excercise was Leg Presses. I did 8 X 308lbs X 4 and fell asleep on the machine after the last set. hehehe… talk about fatigued. Err I gotta ciao and hit the sack. Ciao

Week 12

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

I started my 12th week of workout yesterday and it feels much better than the previous ones I’ve done so far. It was chest and back day, and I wanted to start on my cutting phase so I thought of doing my lifts with low weight and higher reps. The stats are as below, don’t laugh at the weights, I know I’m weak. Lol.

Flat Bench:
50kg X 12 X 2
50kg X 11
50kg X 10

Decline Bench:
40kg X 12 X 4

Incline Bench:
40kg X 12 X 2
40kg X 10 X 2

Flyes:
20kg X 12 X 4

Standing Barbell Rows:
40kg X 6 X 3

Barbell Shrugs:
40kg X 12 X 4

Deadlifts:
40kg X 12 X 4

Wide Grip Lat Pulldowns:
100lbs X 15
110lbs X 13
110lbs X 12 X 2

Narrow Grip Lat Pulldowns (underhand):
110lbs X 12 X 4

Cardio:
17 minutes

I got on the scale soon after and, **gasp**, I went back up a kilo. Hahaha. I gotta get a fat caliper to find out if I lost bodyfat or what. I do feel stronger and my muscles feels larger, so it’s looking good imho. I’ll do my legs and shoulders later after midnight. I hope to reach my goals soon. I’ll post some updated pics of myself later this week. Till then, let’s do it right, ciao.

And So The Story Goes

Saturday, January 20th, 2007

I just love working out at night. As I workout in the office’s gym, the timing to do so is key. Normally, I like to be alone, so I can fully focus and enjoy my workouts instead of engaging talks about "I had a bad day today" and "Damn, It’s only 4 day left till saturday". I don’t wanna hear that. Oh yeah, and another thing, I work 4pm till 1am. Why, you asked. It’s cause my job is to support my parent company in the UK for computer issues, but I’ll be changing to 8pm-5am soon (US shift).

Today, I’d like to change my split routine abit. It’s supposed to be chest and tri’s but I wanted to try out tri’s and bi’s instead. After downing a mug of NO-Xplode (I finally found the scoop, it was hiding), I went and chatted with a friend for 20 minutes to wait it out till gym time. As expected the workout was very satisfying. My arms felt charged and ignited. The only thing is, my right elbow is starting to hurt (inner side), and that worries me. Towards the end, my friend and I started to feel abit giddy (like we wanna puke, lol)But we were drinking almost a litre of water each. It’s alright I guess, cause we both were pushing ourselves extra hard today, and added more weights to my repetoire. Nonetheless, it was a really good workout.

After that we wanted to go for a drink at the tea stall, I was kinda famished too. I had 3 half boiled eggs (super runny eggs), a teh tarik (tea with milk) and iced milk tea. As I was feeling good about the workout, I went there with my sleeves rolled up. A group of guys (in their mid 30’s) came and sat behind us. One noticed that I have large arms (fat encrusted muscles, lol) but his friend discuragingly said "Nah, that’s all fat. He’s  not strong.". Man, that really puts me down. The guy hardly knows me and says things like that. I guess just jealous (he’s damn thin by the way, a stick prick imho). Thank God that won’t bring my motivation and determination down cause when I know I can vent some anger and recharge my motivation at bb.com.

Argh, I’m having a migraine now, I think I’m gonna sleep it off and do my back and chest whe I wake up. Later people, ciaos.

NO-Xplode, 12 Days In

Thursday, January 18th, 2007

I’ve been using NO-Xplode for 12 days, and I kinda like it. The rush, focus and determination was amplified. Prior to it, I only lasted 45 minutes of lifting, then I’m flat. Now, not only am I lasting longer, I’m carrying more and feeling the pump after each set. Not bad eh? I don’t have a body to kill for yet but I do feel the pump lasting for a whole day. If I use it and only do my lifts half-fast, I won’t feel much of a pump. But that won’t be a concern as the focus amplification was dramatic. I’m not even distracted to anything, even when someone comes into the room (the gym is tiny). Heck, I don’t even notice when they open the door.

I’m taking 2 tablespoon of it as it didn’t come with a scoop. The thing is, you need to down at least 3 liters of water to make sure that it’s working. I had to find a smooth bottomed mug (all my cups are mugs) cause there were white sediments, which appears to be creatine. So, waste not, I scooped the remainder with a spoon, yumm (tasteless actually). Flavor-wise, it’s fruit puch, so it taste like kool aid, hahahahaha. I made sure that I drank at least half a mug of water after drinking NO-X.

I feel stiff the whole day, in a good way. It’s like I’m flexing every where I go. And when I do flex, woah, I can see changes, bulges, shapes. I like it, this is my 11th week of working out. I’ll take a picture next week and do a comparision. By eye, I notice that changes were done to my body. My shoulders look broader. My man boobs lessened and is starting to shape up (it ain’t as pointy, I don’t know how to describe this). My arms looks filled and not flabbed. And my stomach is starting to look like a barrell rather than a decompressed H2 tyre. I’ll blog more when I get the time, work aint allowing to do this often and the internet connection at home sucks. Let’s get ripped.
