Life after strained MCL
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009It has been almost 5 weeks since doing any lower body. I believe my knee is healed up for the most part. Last week I started doing some light cardio on an elliptical for low impact. this week i hit the deads using light weight keeping STRICT form. I have also upped the cardio to a treadmill. I have been running 1.5 miles at about 16 minutes. I think that’s awesome considering I have not actively done any cardio in about three years! Today is the real test. Going to attempt light squats. Once again, strict form. Ever tried box squats? That’s the plan for tonight. Basically you set up a platform or a box that you would "sit" on at the down portion of the squat. This is good for two reasons….no momentum can be used and the "sit" portion is thighs parallel to the floor. Good range of motion and strict form. The knee has held up on the treadmill so Hopefully be the 2nd week of May, I will be full swing with lower body! I started doing cardio because my wife was hinting that she would like me to cut up. i can take some constructive crticism. Plus, I hope to take the kids to the pool a lot this summer…No Bill, I don’t mean taking a crap!…so it would be nice to look better while working on this pale skin of mine! Anyway, I hope all is well
