Hit my chest and abs last night. I am still switching it up every week for right now. My plan is to stick with something new next week for four weeks. Any ideas that I can try that have worked for other people? I have tried HIT, 5×5, High Volume training, a modified pyramid style training, and Doggcrapp. They are all effective in their own way but it seems that after two weeks or so, I don’t feel it like I did the first week I did them. That is really the reason I have been switching it up every week!

I was planning on making up some gym time this weekend but what can I say, I spent my time with my son! Thats not too hard to understand is it? I’ve got my plan down for next week. Mon-Legs,  Tues-Chest  Wed-Back,  Thurs morn-Shoulders/Traps,  Thurs night-Arms

I am going this route because my gym is closed when I get off work on friday night and they close too early for me to get my lazy butt up to get there sat morning.

I decided to take tonight off. I was not feeling it. In a way i’m disappointed, but in another way, my body is screaming,"SLEEP!" I’ll make up for it….i’m sure of it!

HIT back tonight. It went very well! I could actually feel the soreness as I walked out of the gym! I started with 315 on deads and worked my way down to 115. I wanted to puke alright! Then it was lat pulldowns the same way, followed by cable rows (wide grip) and dumbell pullovers. The workout lasted longer than my other ones HIT style but it was worth the effort. I hit the weight hard for about 50 minutes. Keep in mind I have a partner to spot too! I think I am going to stick with HIT for 3 more weeks before switching it up again.

Hit chest tonight. Did incline smith machine press and then flat dumbell press. It was a fun workout because when we were finished with flat dumbell presses, the dumbell rack was empty and the floor was a mess! It looked like we just won a battle in a war! In a way I guess we did! Finished it up with some abs and called it a night. 30 min and an awesome workout!

1st day

monday marked the 1st day of HIT for me. We hit legs instead of chest. A buddy of mine at the gym told me i wasnt doing it right if  i wasnt throwing up. He may have been right but I wanted to throw up. In fact, that feeling stayed with me long after I left the gym. My legs are sore! It is a good thing. I just hope my body will be quick to adjust. On the brighter side, I was in and out of the gym in 30 minutes! Well, I was finished working out in 30 min. I have to talk with my friends afterwards!

Monday will mark the beginning of HIT for me. I read a book a friend let me borrow called The New High Intensity Training. Some of the book was….well….B.S. but there was some good info in there too. I am against doing the whole body in one day. I actually like going to the gym. What I will do is something like this:

Monday: Incline Dumbell Press / Flat Bench Press / Abs
Tuesday: Squats / Leg Press / Leg Curls / Calf Raises
Wednesday:  Deadlift / Neutral T-Bar Row / Lat Pulldown / Wide Chins

Thursday: Military Press (behind neck) / Upright Row / Bent Over Laterals / Barbell Shrugs

Friday: Preacher Curl / Hammer Curl / Skull Crushers / Abs

Initially I am going to try this for one week. If I like it, I may end up doing it for 4 weeks and then rotating again. I believe HIT should be included in your training to mix things up and (hopefully) bust some plateaus  and jump start some new growth. I’ll post my results!

Franklin beat….again

Well, it’s official….Anderson Silva knocked out Rich Franklin again, this time in the second round. I like Franklin as a fighter but Silva is just better all around. Tim Sylvia hardly beat Brandon Vera by a unanimous decision. I believe it was a pitiful performance although at the end Tim Sylvia hit Vera with plenty of punches.

well, my first impression of animal pump was awesome. I had great workouts all week! I did notice my energy gains werent always consistent but that was probably due to the fact that my sleep has not been consistent.  We will see what next week brings. At this moment, I highly recommend Animal Pump!
