Monday will mark the beginning of HIT for me. I read a book a friend let me borrow called The New High Intensity Training. Some of the book was….well….B.S. but there was some good info in there too. I am against doing the whole body in one day. I actually like going to the gym. What I will do is something like this:
Monday: Incline Dumbell Press / Flat Bench Press / Abs
Tuesday: Squats / Leg Press / Leg Curls / Calf Raises
Wednesday: Deadlift / Neutral T-Bar Row / Lat Pulldown / Wide Chins
Thursday: Military Press (behind neck) / Upright Row / Bent Over Laterals / Barbell Shrugs
Friday: Preacher Curl / Hammer Curl / Skull Crushers / Abs
Initially I am going to try this for one week. If I like it, I may end up doing it for 4 weeks and then rotating again. I believe HIT should be included in your training to mix things up and (hopefully) bust some plateaus and jump start some new growth. I’ll post my results!
