Hurrah for the Calorie Calculator

February 23, 2009

I found a very useful Calorie Calculator tool to keep track on my eatings. It is a web application that is very easy to use and it has a great number of foods and nutrients ready in it. It has opened my eyes what is the problem in my eating. This web site is in finnish with a local foods but I’m sure there are lot of similar tools in english too. Does anybody use such apps?

More Cardio or Not?

October 21, 2008

Body fat seems to be permanent, at least in my case. Fat won’t disapper what so ever. It is stuck to my belly/waist line.

I have added cardio workouts to my training program few weeks ago. I use cross trainer 2-3 times per week about 30-60 minutes per session. The diet seems to be too difficult to handle for me although I’m able to maintain it at reasonable level. I LIKE PIZZA! I have lost weight couple of kg’s and I’m getting leaner for sure. But it is such a slow process. Last time I did cardio, I realized I did it @ 150-160 HB rate and I think it is too high.

So, what is the right/proper HB rate for a fat losing cardio and what would be the optimal time for it? If you can help me please tell me  ;-)

Work Camp

July 17, 2008

3rd week of my summer vacation, only one week left. Been hammering a lot while rebuilding the ‘guest gottages’ floor, lot of sawing wood etc. No gym! If these are cons, pros are SAUNA and fishing. I have found new muscles while doing those though ;-)
Kids are jumping to walls, its time to leave summer cottage and enter the highway to home. A bit strange to meet people after being on an isolated  island for a while. Anyway, i feel refreshed and i’m ready for serious training…

This 40 year bulkin’ period…

July 11, 2008

has reached now its terminal point. I have to stop worrying about losing muscle on my diet. Fat blocks all the definition so how I’m able to say I have muscle anyway :-)

My weight is now a bit less than 100 kg’s - and it will stay that way.

LET THERE BE ONLY TWO DIGIT VALUES ON MY SCALE FROM NOW ON!!!

Working overtime…

June 25, 2008

I’ve been working over time past week. It has been almost a week without weight training. Why is it always such hurry before summer vacations? Am I trying to to ease up my tasks too much so it would be easier to return from vacation. Anyway, it sucks because I have no energy for training at all although it would help me to stay brisk. Only two days to go! I have plenty of time for training on my vacation :-P

Getting rif of fat…

May 26, 2008

Why is it so tuff to get rid of fat? Maybe I’m too afraid to to lose muscle during diet and I still eat too much? I have never been ‘ripped’ so I’m not not able to say what it takes to get ripped. Am I looking for some kind of shortcut in here?

My body weight is stucked at the magical 100 kg’s. I eat ‘healthy home food’ without any supplements. It seems that I may  have to figure out something…
