Tri-fecta was good had a friend with me.  she mentioned that I seemed quiet,  I’ve been in a bad mood all day today.  She noticed but I wouldn’t admit it, something I need to deal with on my own.  Usually a good workout snaps me out of a bad mood but for some reason this one didn’t.  Really pushed the arms today and legs were like rubber by the end of the workout.  Ate some homemade protein bars afterwards.  They are kind of dry but I like them because I know what is in them.

Might try to go to the local rec and swiim tomorrow.

Nice day, it was yoga day.  My hamstrings have been pretty tight and I’ve found that the yoga really helps.  Tomorrow is my abs/arms/legs day, aka the Tri-Fecta.  I try to work out every day of the week so yoga is the perfect "rest day" in my routine.

Big snow storm here in Ohio.  They closed my company earlier, luckily I live 4 miles from where I work but it still took my 20 minutes to get home.  Roads are deep with snow and it is still coming down, I’m guessing we have about 10 inches since yesterday.

Bad news is today is a cardio day and I have nothing at home to do cardio with.  I might have to find a old piece of rope and jump rope.  hmmmm that is a good idea.

Got a great Abs/Arms/Leg in today, these are instructor led workouts, if you recall from a previous post.  At the end she had us doing on arm hammer curls, while we did these the other arm held the weight at the half way point.  By the time we were done my Bi’s were on fire.

Sprints kicked my butt today, we increased the distance and slowed it down a little.  1/2 mile at a 3:10 pace.  We did 5 of these (only made it to 4 at pace had to jog the last 1/2 mile.  I was fighting a slight cold and that seemed to put me over the edge, just did a shot of zicam, multi-vitamin and drinking some gatorade, hopefully that will cure me.

run

Got a great cardio workout in today, 5 miles at a 7:57 average pace.  That is a real good pace for me.  I think the inclusion (is that the right word?) of sprints in my weekly workout is helping.  I have a sprint workout on schedule for tomorrow, we will see how the legs last after today’s run.

Arnold’s pump and run was sold out a long time ago.  Hopefully next year I remember to sign up and be able to max out the ben and run the 5k in under 20:00.  That would be sweet!

Had a good lift today at the rec center.  No cardio though, just weights.  I’ve been watching the Australian Open.  I used to laugh when the wife would watch the matches not realizing just how intense a match could be.  She eventually talked me into playing and I really enjoyed it, it is a great workout.  I took lessons last year and now I’m hooked.

If you want to see some incredible athletes check out tennis players.  They have to have to be in great shape to play that game. A single match can last over 2 hours and consist short sprints and power strokes with the arm.  If you don’t think they have strength look at some pictures of a player hitting the ball, they use every muscle from their legs to their neck.

Go Baghdatis!!!

Beautiful day in Ohio.  41 degrees, went outside and ran 4.5 miles.  Kept an 8:30 pace, felt good to be outside, I can’t even remember the last time I ran outside, might have been middle of November!  I enjoyed the warm up…tomorrow it is suppose to be 16.  brrr.

Did 30 minutes on the eliptical today during lunch, does anyone know how to record that in the workout tracker?  I can’t seem to find any cardio selections

Sprints were killer today.  I made it to 8 then had to jog the rest.  The rest of the guys I was running with ran 12 of them.  I’m not too down on myself, this is only the second time I’ve done this workout.  I usually do LSD, not the drug, but Long Slow Distance running.  My lungs aren’t used to having to suck so much wind so quick.  I’ll be doing this once a week now for the next few months.

Can’t wait for it to warm up so I can run outside, it is 18 right now (about 9 pm EST) this is warm, we have been hanging between -1 to 10 degrees for the last week.  Suppose to be in the 20’s tomorrow so I might go outside and run 3 or 4. If not I’ll try to get a good lift in.  Maybe do both! I need it, I’ve been living off pizza and sloppy joes the past couple of days. I even have drank 3 mountian dews this week. Lots of junk in my system, I need to work it out.
