Picture ratings…why so sensitive?

I’ve read a lot of blogs, and looked at a lot of forum pics to keep myself motivated. In that time I’ve noticed something peculiar. A lot of people are very sensitive to the ratings other users give to their pictures. I can understand that many people have worked long and hard in the gym to attain their level of fitness…so why let the rating of one person you don’t know get you all riled up? Even if there are 50 low ratings, so what? You are in control of what shows up on the photo, and only you can rate yourself accurately, and you rating is the only one that really matters. Let picture ratings roll off your back. Don’t sweat the small stuff.

im sure anyone is sensitive to something they bust theyre ass for. Who would not be? more and more people logon here to either learn or show results, or to support each other as well as mutual support and admiration from people accross the country. I have low ratings but i can see why i dont have the body i want yet but if i did i would be pissed if someone gave me a bunch of shitty ratings. Many people have mentioned that they get ridiculed for what they eat or what they DONT eat. Its a completely different lifestyle than that of someone who hits bk and mc donalds every day. They just want to get praised and the attention as well as admiration for something that takes so much discipline and self motivation to do. Not get shit ratings and jealousy. Thats what i think but to each his own.

Maybe this is a case of the squeaky wheel… the majority of users don’t care about the ratings but those who do are very vocal about it.

I haven’t seen anyone get pissed about their rating and I wouldn’t put much stock into the rating. I looked at a lot of pics and it seems there are some that go through and put 1’s down on every pic they see. What motivates them to do that I don’t know. They’re probably little geeks that have nothing better to do.

Well think of it this way, We are on this site with the possibility or dream of being on a stage. Not every judge is going to judge you positively, we can take the poor ratings as just another part of our training. I also heard that before taking the criticism let us consider the source, not all criticism is bad if it is given in love. I am with you, encouragement goes further.

I’m not worried myself about the ratings right now. However, i guess as time progresses as does my body, maybe I’ll put a little more stock in them. Good point though, as usual. Constructive criticism is cool, it’s the "in your face disrespect" for the hard work you’ve done, that I can’t handle!! Haven’t gotten it so far, everyone has been unbelievable!!!!!!!!

I can understand feeling disrespected, but there are certain times when I don’t care if I have the respect of others, most notably, when I don’t know the other person at all. Why do I care if some schmuck from Alwaysdark, Alaska rates my picture a one? There were several nitwits that just couldn’t take the low ratings, and as soon as the identies were revealed, those nitwits starting chirping. These big, strong, tough guys with 22 inch biceps just had to cry about low ratings. It makes me sick. Man up, grow up, be accountable for yourself and don’t let faux-disrespect bother you. Just my opinion.
