Balance is important ... could not agree more, but do be careful about "balance" becoming an excuse to allow the pendulum to swing way out of the box in the other direction. When bad habits turn into to healthy ones and become an established part of the daily routine, it is called discipline. Discipline, if allowed to take its course over time, can accomplish much. Don't short circuit it.

I know what you mean about the mental blow... I do like the hour to myself where my cell phone is turned off, I only have good tunes and the lifting. It gives me a time to think, relax, reduce stress.

The nutrition aspect is a killer... I have always been eating less... worried about what i'm eating and counting every calorie but that is the only way I end up eating the right amount.

How have you been otherwise?

Run was awesome this morning, but it was really hot out. As a result of taking planned breaks before all the major hills I actually managed to finish the run in pretty good time, actually a little faster than when I tried to take as little breaks as possible. Treating it like an interval workout will give it more fat burning potential anyway, but I would like to be able to eventually comjplete the entire run without stopping. I'm not worried about that right now as I am trying to "bulk" up a little bit. It seems like I'm able to have better endurance when I'm trying to "cut." I suppose it makes sense, gaining muscle mass means a higher metabolic demand of oxygen, so I guess my cardio has to catch up to the gains in muscle. Maybe having a little extra fat has something to do with it also. Or just the extra weight all together, it takes more energy to move a heavier body.

Good luck, and smart move to skip lifting if your body was telling you it needed more recovery time. Your next lifting workout should be a blast!

Workout went pretty well. I did the dumbbell press on a different bench today (I actually did it on the barbell bench and just took the bar off) because some dude was hogging the bench I usually use. But I should have thanked him because I learned that because the other bench is a little lower to the ground it's more difficult to cheat with legs and thus forced me into a much better form. I couldn't lift as much weight but I sure could feel the burn a LOT more. So I'll be doing it like that from now on. And I actually did just as much weight as last week but it was much better form this time, so that is a sure sign of progress and that made me really happy. Ate a huge breakfast afterwards: 2 glasses of milk, 4 scrambled eggs /w salsa, 2 pieces of WHITE toats (for an insulin boost) and some orange juice and some coffee. Wow I'm like a human garbage disposal!

Hey Bud! I totally know where you are at when it comes to feeling find with just a few hours of sleep. It is not about the amount of sleep, but the quality. If wake rested, don't sweat it! I generally don't get more than 6 hours of sleep a night myself.

Keep going dude... look forward to seeing your progress.

Floor DB Press ... I'll throw that one into the mix next routine.

I never stick with the same workout for more than a couple of weeks myself anymore. I swap most everything around after two workout rotations.

Keep it going bro!
