3rd week out of the gym

June 2, 2008

So its been 3 weeks now that I havent stepped foot in the gym. Not exactly thrilled about this but not much I can do. Tore my left hamstring playing flag football 3 weeks ago, so I figured I’d just rest for a week then start doing upper body to keep up with it a little. Then I got what I thought was a cold that kept to tired to go only to find out today that its pnuemonia, so looks like it be a little while longer. Not so much a pity party, just frustrating, see the little improvement waste away. Just more motivation to kill it when I get better. Man I hope its soon, I’m getting stir crazy!!

want to put on muscle!

May 13, 2008

So I have been hitting the weights pretty seriously for the last 4 to 5 months and have made little to know progress. I’m on here all the time looking for articles tips, ect. Right now now I’m doing a 5 day split that goes chest and some tri’s, back and some bi’s, shoulders, legs, and then arms. Obviously thats over a 5 day period. My workouts usually have about 5 to 6 exercises per body part (except for I do tris and bis with chest and back, I do 3 exercises since they’ve already been worked) with 4 sets per exercise and around 12 to 15 reps per set. Am I just doing too much? I realize theres no magic formula, or at least I dont think there is, but what kind of rep range and split should I use to pack on serious size? I also wanna try and burn fat but I figured with my diet and cardio that I do, I should be fine. Any suggestions? I’m pretty much on my own where I’m at, no one where I lift to really ask advice.

body doesnt wanna lose the fat

March 21, 2008

Right now I am at a loss, for whatever reason my body seems to just wanna hold on to the fat, no matter what I do. I’ve been dieting, and working out. I have based my diet off of multiple bodybuilding diets, I’ve cut my carbs, I’ve even been dieting according my blood type. I dont know where I’m going wrong. Some how I’ve increased my bf % in the last 2 weeks, from 21 to 22. I really would appreciate any insight out there, starting to feel as if I am way off track but all I do is read about nutrition and what I need to do in my diet and it doesnt seem to be working. Starting to lose the motivation, feel like I’m fighting a lost cause.

training advice

February 11, 2008

So I started traing about 2 weeks ago, already seen some improvemants. I’m currently using the doggcrapp approach and really like it thus far. I use the mon, wed, fri split and am now doing H.I.I.T. on my off days. H.I.I.T sucks to say the least, but when was losing fat supposed to be easy, right? Anyways since I’m pretty new at actually trying to cut fat and build muscle, was wondering what others may think of my approach. Right now I’m just trying to get mass and slowly cut fat, mainly through dieting(using what I know from various bodybuilding articles on nutrition) and now H.I.I.T. Really just want to know if what I’m doing will have me on the right track or not, thanks.

nutrition and supplementation advice

February 2, 2008

I’m currently 230 pound and 22% bodyfat. I’ve started lifting 3 days a week and am trying to get myself on a nutrtion plan to minimize fat and optimize lean muscle growth. Also I am starting to incorperate H.I.I.T into my training on my off days. Any suggestions, advice, ect, would be great. I’m here for ideas and to meet others that have the same interest as me and for inspiration and motivation
