Calling all powerlifters.

April 11, 2009

Been talking to a few powerlifters in the gym, and I’ve always gone with the theory that if u look like u can move alot of weight, u better be able to move alot of weight. I’m at a point right now, where I’ve gotten pretty good at the sculpting part of my training, but would love to get any advice from you power guys that can help me stress my muscle even more. More worried about bustin joints and tendons. Maybe some advice on how to get started, or how u got started… etc.  Thanks. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

NOT JUST ANOTHER PERFECT 10…

July 15, 2008

Ok so this  is bodybuilding.com. I’m relatively new to the site and am wondering about these ratings for the pics that are posted.  I understand that u rate the picture on how u see fit to, but am having a hard time believing all of these perfect 10’s that everyone recieves (myself included).  Are we really being honest and giving the picture a rating it deserves, or are we going to all just constantly blow sunshine up someones rear?  And if I ask that question then what exactly are we rating. The artistic nature of the photo, or the subjects and the way they captured their muscle definition? Is it a 10 if u think the person is attractive? Lets be honest, we’ve all rated a picture that was less than a 10… well a 10. Are we all so sensitive to others feelings that being honest and maybe rating it an 8 would be out of the question?  Are we scared that that person will come back and give us a bad rating on one of our photo’s? Did all of our parents ingrain in us the motto "If u don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all."? I don’t think so.

I know my body isn’t perfect and I kill myself every week striving to make improvements based on what I feel would give me a more symetrical shape. But I’m on this site to get and share advice with others. Believe it or not I’m interested in what others have to say and would consider it a breath of fresh air for someone to be honest and say hey, looking good, but maybe it would help if u worked this, or maybe u should try that, or in this shot it looks a little funny on your left delt, or whatever.

I’m not trying to go on a rant, but how can we hope to spot other things we need to work on if everyone on here is a perfect 10?  Just interested on what others might have to say on the subject. Don’t want to offend anyone. It just seems a little silly to me. I mean why have a rating system that goes from one to ten if the only number ever used is 10? Come on we’re adults, we can take it.
