sacrifices …

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Life is full of sacrifices.  Things you have to give up in exchange to get more of what you want.  I remember when it was going out to party and drink my ass off so I could get my time in the gym.  Other times it was skipping out on class because it got in the way of my gym time (that didn’t happen too often though).  It took so much effort to get to the level of progress I’ve made in the weight room at an attempt to be the super athlete, or well, to at least look like one which I think I’ve done a pretty good job and am so close.

However, today I realized that about four weeks ago I sacrificed something else and have been in constant denial.  However, it wasn’t for the gym but for business.  I figure that if I just work my ass off to get everything off the ground, I’ll be able to go to the gym when I REALLY want to, not when my work/life/gym schedule permit it.  So nope, weights are only done when I get a chance every few weeks or so.  So what do I do in the mean time.

calisthenics … I pull out the deck of cards, pull the card, and do the number on it.  Go ahead and pull the next one.  Its been a bummer as of recent but I think its going to work out rather well.

We’ll see though.  Man, sacrificing the gym for other life goals.  Seems so … wrong on so many levels but its oh so right.

always last …

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

Well, my training partner and I quit for two weeks.

Business got to be rather hectic.  We were tired from the late nights of work so weren’t able to go consistently in the morning last week thanks to random business trips and the like.  At night, had to finish the work.  Same thing happened this week.  We were actually able to go today and possibly tomorrow, but well, this morning I just said we should start on monday … and so we shall.  My training is always the first thing I cut down on when all of my jobs get to me.

Ok, actually, thats a lie.  When things get too hectic, its usually my damned extracurricular activities such as BJJ, clubs, and the like.  Then my social life.  Its just that, I haven’t had a social life in so long I forgot all about it.  Then training (its not extracurricular for me.  Its a part of life.  Training is like a part of my hierarchy of need)… then meltdown.  :-D   So I start back monday.  My chiropractor wants me to get back in there this weekend so that means on Saturday, I get to do a full body workout with someone whose not my training partner or without one.  I have to make sure I’ll be healed from it by monday as well.  This means I’m going to good ole metro fitness unless one of my atlanta based readers has a better idea.
Cardio has been getting in slightly.  Diet is … diet is off like crazy.  Big time caloric deficit.  I’m subconsciously cutting or something.  :-D

cool
