Getting ready

Saturday, February 24th, 2007

Well, I would have started training this weekend or this week.  However, this is my last week having to do the whole travel to the middle of nowhere and attempt to live thing.  Next week the training starts after my training partner gets back from his weekend vacation.  This weekend is a busy weekend with a number of recordings going on throughout.  I just finished on an hour actually … that was pretty cool.
Now, I just have to get the rest of this program done.  However, as far as training is concerned, I am suffering from DOMS thanks to some calisthenics.  I pulled out the old Charles Atlas program from years ago and did the 10 exercises to a better body.  Ouch, I had no idea I’d get DOMS all over.  I didn’t even realize the things would be nearly as hard as they were.  Boy, were they.  Yeah, its calisthenics and jump rope week just to attempt to get my conditioning back up (or even better) to par and insure I can get quality results through quality conditioning and performance.

Hopefully this will go away despite I do calisthenics everyday.  Wow, this is so … ouch.

Right around the corner

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

Well, last week I got another job so I resigned.  Training officially starts when I start the new job on the 5th.  Maybe training starts on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.  I just know one thing, my training partner and I are really looking forward to it.  This past weekend I found myself in an unofficial grappling match and was slightly frightened that since my training (weights, any type of grappling/wrestling/martial art) has been non-existent for so long.  Well, I do some cardio, not too serious though.

That was fun but luckily my newfound opponent ( who just happens to have way more grappling experience then I do ) had been lacking in the training department as well and happened to get taken out.  Then there was the knife fighting incident, which I lost, but no one lost any blood so thats a good thing.  I guess I’m not as out of shape as I thought I was and this loss of 20+ lbs seems to make it easier to move around for various setups.  However, the lack of strength makes it hard as well.  However, his is going to be a good training season when I return, unless I get caught up in the money in which case, I’ll still be happy.

I’m looking forward to it.

LOL, What an awful place!

Wednesday, February 14th, 2007

Whoever heard of gyms closing at 8 on weekdays?

What kind of awkward city is this?  This is like the most awkward place in the world.  The last time I was here the one in walking distance closed at 10, not 8.  What a bunch of awfulness ….

LMAO

The library is open later than the gym.  That lets you know that the people here are just pathetic monkeys that don’t know how to do anything right.  Its why I’m leaving as soon as I get the chance.  :-D

Damn it, when I get ready to go back to the gym the crap is closed.  I think the Universe wants me to go home.

Not this time …

Monday, February 12th, 2007

Ok, so I was going to go mess around at a gym with a guest pass today.

I think I got so caught up in the excitement of my good news and so distracted with dealing with my bad news that after I was all done, I was all worn out, got too caught up in work that I just didn’t make it.  Maybe after Heroes but I doubt it as nothing like a gym will be open around these parts.

Oh well, good news is I’ll be back in there shortly.

Denial

Sunday, February 11th, 2007

I’ve always been in denial about being "kinda" big but well, I think I’m in denial now about not having lost any size.  20 lbs is a lot to lose and all of my pants are too big.  I’m also in denial about my health going to crud too.  Well, not really going to crud.  More like, just not being as optimal as it usually is.  I’m also in denial about the weeks I’ve been out of the gym and when I’m going back.
Alright, so I just started listening to some Citizen Cope and Robin Thicke.  Go pick those up.  Its not good training music but just good music over all.  Good for helping me get through my middle Georgia weeks.

Oh well, all of my athlete friends (bb.com, bodybuilders, gym friends, weight lifters, BJJ, and other people that do something athletic) have been asking for updates to my training.  They haven’t seen me in a while and well, its all for a not so good reason other than extreme greed, loss of focus, and concentrating on fixing the problem as opposed to fixing it while also hitting the weights.  I’ve lost 20+ lbs since the last time I was in the gym.  Oh yeah, calisthenics, cardio, malaise, and not eating will do that to you.  I sure wish the calisthenics and cardio was happening a lot more often too.
So how is training going you might ask?

Its alright, it could be better though.  Much better ..

I think I’m setting my date for February 23.  I want to say when I come back but if everything goes according to plan, that will be March 2 unless, I go on vacation the week of the 26.

Nah, I’ll be back in there tomorrow.  Its just a question of where.
