Just curious what kind of form do you use for your squat???Theres a video on my page of some olympic athletes from china doing some squats check it out...Theirs many ways theories on how to get stronger they all pretty much work...your goal should be learn wht the most efficient way to get stronger or bigger is...how do you know whats the most efficient way learn how your muscle cells create force and how they grow...then find your weaknesses and train those along with your strengths...just keep in mind there's a trade off for everything...meaning if you want to focus on one thing you cant focus on another...any comments or questions i think i could give you much more advice...peace

It's funny cuz I have been working out for almost a year, but I realized I was cheating myself by straying from the basics too quick.

I would have NEVER thought I could do 3x5x245 on squats so quickly. I would probably not even have attempted it for quite a while.

All my lifts are exceeding my expectations. If you stick with it and make sure your nutrition is good, you will definitely impress yourself.

Get one of the other Gym Members or Instructors to take a look at your form? If you do it at home, I am sure the forum will happily give you advice - just dodge the trolls.

How're you finding Rippetoe? I just started - did my 2nd workout today. It feels good so far.

Hope you sort the back out.

You're right, without good form you'll probably hurt your back. I was struggling with deadlift and had to get a buddy to watch me to figure out what I was doing wrong. After fixing my mistakes I started with very low weight (135) but after a few weeks was up to 270 in December. Unfortuntately, a wrist sprain has prevented me from doing anything with a barbell for a few weeks. Keep at it and you'll be fine!
