Ok boys and girls,
I most certainly have been bitten by the bug of sweat, caluses, and tired muscles at the end of the day, but to think my body is starting to look better than back in the days of swimming lap after endless lap in the pool 10 months out of the year, that was 25 years ago, I’m stronger, healthier, and I feel freaking awesome, that alone is worth the price of admission!
I feel like I"m just starting to get a good base line of exercises in my routine, and yes I have to make sure that I don’t just gravitate to the ones that I like the most. I have the getting my ass there down! My daytimer is blocked from 12p-2p M, W, Th, & F and Sunday after church! I have to figure out how to keep my fire stoked and not get burned out or bored. Don’t have a "workout" buddy, there are a couple of MSU Chicks that I’d be their buddy, hell I"d even let them call me "Daddy".
Tell you what, finding this website was a godsend for me, I’ve learned so much, and forgot about 2X as much as I"ve learned, I"m getting there…maybe just maybe on the Cruise in May…I may just be in better shape for my wife’s "dining and dancing Pleasure" not to mention, have her be proud of me.
Enjoying every day that I get up and either add a set, plate or even a couple of meger reps to a set! Even the days that I don’t go up and remain flat, I still think that I’m getting somewhere.
Anyways, enjoying the smell of iron oxide on my hands in the middle of the afternoon!

Just had the wife take some "snaps" of my body thinking I was going to see something good, what I saw was this middle aged white guy staring back at me with a really bad double chin and a need for a good plastic surgeon that can make a Lipo Candilla suck out fat like an ancient Greek Sculptor can work a slab of marble…and to think I was making progress…S-O-B that was kind of a kick in the nuts…oh well looks like I’m still at square uno.
Scotty! Give me more Cardio at warp 9….I need to loose this fat!

There are days when you just have to blaze out of the office and go push and pull some iron around to break the stress of the work week. My thing was on Wednesday Corporate came in to the station and let my general manager of 6 years "go" (The company wanted to go in a different direction) After being in Shock for the better part of the day and being completely pissed off at what they had done, I had to go a bust out some sets…at least just to get the anger and frustration out and all the negative energy out of my body and give it back to the universe.
It’s amazing how working out can clear your head and help you with "processing" events that leave you in guess lost and feeling betrayed by your own company. Grief, it seems to be what I’m feeling for loosing a Mentor, a Superior, a Boss, a Friend, and yet a person that has become a "father figure" in my life.
So when you feel down and over whelmed…take a break, step back, and rack the weights and push the iron…Clarity will come back in full force!
Have a great day!

Well today at the Gym was a good one…just for my own curiousity I wanted to see what my Bodyfat was at, I had it measured with one of those electronic hand held gizzmos, as I have in the past. Well today I’ve dropped down to 20.0%!
I’m starting to become addicted to the weight room, trying a new exercise almost daily. I’m trying to keep things balanced, constantly reading articles from Bodybuilding.com, let’s just say I’m "home schooling" myself.
Feel free to look over my routines any and all feedback is welcome and needed.
Trying to take it to the next level, for something that started out for the "health" of it, I"m hooked.

Ok…just for shit’s and giggles I got the tape back out just to see…wow, it’s really starting to work, working out is a good thing….my tape is getting stretched tighter and the shirts are starting to show the signs of ’swelling’ under the shoulders and in the arms, Quads, who would have thunk it, they are starting to show signs of definition!
I’ll see how we’re doing in the next two weeks, I’ll get the tape back out and hopefully make the numbers grow xcept for my waist…that can start to go down anytime.
Til the next time,
Mike

Well, a start of another week, fired up and ready to go…just waiting for all the "government" employees to get out of the gym and go home to eat cookies or watch TV. MLK day…I’m at my office right now working hard at looking like I’m working.
The goal of this week in to increase weight, not reps, don’t get me wrong I don’t want to just push something or pull something 1X and call it a set…my Min is 4X…my Max 10X. If I can preform at more than 10X per set then the weight is to low. I want to "feel" some pressure, some pain, and some progress. Lately I haven’t been to sore the day after, and if you look at my workout history then you’ll notice that I tend to go everyday and target the same muscles by doing the same exercises over and over…getting kind of bored. I don’t want to get bored or burnt with my exercise, I want be excited to go each and every day…I want to be rock hard, I"m going to be rock hard, and I’m going to achieve this week’s goal come Hell (that would be a stretch since it’s 12 degrees outside) or High Water (well since the lakes are frozen, no problem there).
I’ll check back in Mid Week to let you in on my progress…any tips or suggestions would be greatly appriciated.
Have a good one,
Mike
