This is by far my favorite day of the week! I always start Sundays with an ab workout. This is not my favorite muscle group but i only hit it once a week and today is it! I can really see a change for week to week. This time of year is a special time for us rednecks, it’s deer hunting season. Today closes mule deer season so most of us have to spend the whole day hunting, but not me nope im changing my ways! I’m so hooked on ab day that i did not start my day in a deer blind freezing my ass off, hoping to get the big one. My wife asked me this morning, "it’s 5 what time are you leaving to go hunting" i said " not today honey i’m changing my redneck ways, i’m staying home to do an ab workout and put up the christmas lights". Man did that shock her! She patted me on the rear and said " well how about we ahh" well ya know, i said nope, sorry gotta go do my ab workout maybe later. So here it is 2pmish and i’d better go ge my cammo on, ya know it’s the last day of deer season! Can’t change to fast ya know!!!!!!!!!!!

That’s what son number three said the other evening. Mom was gone for the evening so off to the land of fun and fast food we go. We setteled on a wonderfull place who’s sign is called "a Texas stop sign". My nine year old is painfully aware of the need for dad to eat clean. So we ordered, him first. Chicken country basket, fries, Texas toast, and a coke. (he is a work in progress) Next dad’s turn , lets see let me have a grilled chicken salad, hold the cheese, bacon bits, with low fat ranch. Oh ya water hold the ice please. It arrives sure smells good, oh no "mam i ordered grilled chicken not fried," oh sorry i thought grilled ment no grease and batter, well i’ll just pick it out. Man this things got grease all over the lettuce, oh well i’ll pick it out too. Damm these tomatoes are rotten, i’ll pick them out. Man all i got left is this cool colored eco box that it came in. This box tastes pretty good it you dip it in low fat ranch. I wonder if my son learned anything tonite!!! Probably that his old man has lost his mind.

After several close calls with rattlesnakes, pissed off cows, and caught out in a couple of bad storms, I thought that maybe a little more life insurance might be a good plan. So I hooked up with and outfit and went and took the normal exam that they required. They weighed me and took some blood, and checked my hight and sent me on my way. A week later they contacted me and said that since i was way overweight for my hight it would cost me twice as much per month as they had originally quoted. I told them that i am a bodybuilder, and I am not your normal 5′11" 233lb male! I got some 18′’ guns and a 51" chest, they were not impressed. I told them lets get the tape out and refigure this body fat. They said sorry we have to go by what the averages tell us, so pay or no insurance. I nicely told them to get f……, I mean go climb a tree! any thoughts on this?

Ya, that’s right i’m beginning to think that my brain is getting hard like my abs! I should know that overtraining is bad, but I keep pushing. I have a tri and marathon background, I know better that to make large leaps in training. It’s kinda like eating, I swear that I will do better tomorrow. Two saturdays ago my son and I ran in a 5k, he is 9 and ran a 26.5. Not happy with his finish he asked what he could do to improve. I told him sprints are the answer for speed. So sunday we did 10 x 50 meter sprints at full speed. Then a full afternoon of fixing a piece of shit tractor in the sun, came home to a hard ab workout. I saw this guy on tv doing incline situps with 2 large plates on his chest, so naturally i figured i could do it and I did 5×25 reps no sweat right. Well it felt pretty good so I did my regular ab workout, 5×25 eagle sits, 5×50 sets on an ablounger, 5×25 sets of machine leg lifts, and the same of leg pulls. Well I had to get my wife to help me out of bed monday. I thought that I had a hernia, but still ran every day that week(all of us runners think we can run through anything) 5 miles during my lunch time. Well the pain still there, my son and i decided to run 4×400 meters at full speed last sunday. Well we did it and guess what last monday morning was worse. So no running this week, still lifting like normal. No ab work, aah things are feeling better, I think a strained ab on the left side. So the morals of this story: 1. Don’t try to lift way over your range. 2. Don’t try to outrun a 9 year old when your my age. 3. Don’t work of a piece of shit tractor on sunday.

Today was a great day here in West Texas! Temp in the lower 70s, and not much wind, for once. Started out with an ab workout early this morning. This evening i ran 50 meter sprints with my son, that was a blast. It bugs him that the old man can kick his butt, but i’m sure that will soon come to an end. He is the last of 5 kids, his brothers eventually caught me, he will too. Then on to a really great back workout, i"m sure rolling out of bed in the morning will be a challange. Tomorrow is leg day, that will be a good way to end a monday!

you told your kids that the easter bunny always brings carrots and broccli.
you told your kids that only good kids get easter eggs without egg yolks.
you set a good example for your kids by giving away your easter candy
you ate vegies while your family ate ham with all the trimmings.
you bought an easter cake but threw it away and ate the box.
you missed church, but managed to get in a really awesome ab workout.
you wonder if the coloring that you used to color your kids easter eggs added any calories from fat.
you tried to make an easter cake out of 100 % whey protein.
you wondered how much protein the kids live easter bunny has in it.

Well here we are, a brand new year, another oppertunity to improve my on going project! This year’s new years resolutions 1. Don’t say anything to my wife that i might regret later, 2. Get below 10% bodyfat. I had my usual 4 mile lunch run, really nice but a little chilly. Still trying to find a running partner but no luck ( been trying for 6 years). Tonite was bicep night, my favorite i guess. Seems to show the fastest improvements. I guess that’s what motivates me.

you know that there are 6.32 calories from fat in a peanut m&m
you look the other way when you drive by a Mcdonalds
you are looking for somehting that does the opposite of rogain
you are having trouble with the meaning of the phrases "tastes like fruit punch" and "dissolves easily in water"
you know what a posing suit is for
it takes you longer than 2 hours to buy food
you had to move your wifes car outside so you could have more space for bodybuilding equipment
you spent more on supplements last year than you did on christmas for your family
one of the three greatest moments of your life was when you benched your body weight
