This whole Michael Phelps getting caught smoking pot situation is really bothering me. Who cares if he was ripping a bong? Bruce Lee used to take THC in the form of tea at night to help him mellow out and he, like Phelps was an amazing athlete. All I see in the papers are quotes such as "what was he thinking" and "what a dope". This infuriates me because I truly believe that legal drugs such as alcohol and cigarettes are far more harmful to your body than taking a bong rip(don’t give me that crap that pot is much worse for your lungs than cigarettes, cuz I will tear you to shreds with research). I do realize that marijuana is anillegal substance, but if Phelps had a picture taken of him with a bottle of beer nobody would care. But when he’s caught with a substance that has caused zero deaths in it’s known history of use, people go crazy. I just don’t get it, but I do like the fact that possibly the worlds most dominant athlete gets down with the ganja. Any thoughts anyone?

As a biochemist, I am strongly against the use of creatine. The science behind it is simple… you don’t need it! It doesn’t build muscle, the only thing it does is somewhat restore your ATP energy levels. The problem I have with this is that ATP is naturally restored on its own, creatine makes little to no difference. ATP is also used up in seconds, last time I checked it takes more than 3-5 seconds to bust out 8-10 reps. Creatine does give your muscles a fuller look because of the natural byproduct of the reaction between muscle and creatine… H20. Water is what gives the muscle the "puffier" look, this isn’t new muscle. I get into debates all the time with other athletes about the use of creatine, and I thought I’d share my thoughts. Anyone agree? Disagree? I like to hear what people think about "urine you pay for" (creatine).

I was wondering if anyone out there could help me out… I’ve always been told that doing cardio first thing in the morning makes for the most fat loss… but upon waking up, your body is in a catabolic state, right? So, is cardio first thing in the morning really the best time to do it? I’ve also heard that cardio immediately after a lift is a good time for it, but if I were to do that, should I get my post workout nutrition in before the cardio or after the cardio? Can anyone help me out??
Thanks,
Kyle

All you guys out there who wear tiny sleeveless shirts to the gym, just stop! Today it was 11 degrees below zero, and there were still a bunch of dudes wearing ridiculous sleeveless shirts. Nobody cares how big your arms are, wear a shirt that fits you. LET THE WEIGHTS DO THE TALKING!!
