A Little Disappointed

The week my goal was to hit 186lbs and do good sets on the wide lat pull down.  I didn’t reach either of those goals.  Even though I feel there is no excuse for excuses, I do have a couple excuses. 

First, a busy week where I had to get in a dentist appointment on Tuesday and a meeting with an advisor on Monday took out two extra cardio days.  I made up the workouts during the week but I lost two days of extra calorie burning before my official weigh in day today.  Second, it was my birthday this week so I had a little extra in the way of sweets.  Nobody’s fault but my own in the weight loss department.

As far as the weights go.  This week I took it down a notch and focued on form.  I was really glad I did because after each workout I really felt great.  Body parts were tired in all the right places.  I think I had gotten so wrapped up in moving weights up and reaching weight goals that I was sacrificing form.  So, for example, on back day, I’d noticed that after a back workout my back wasn’t so sore the next day and my biceps were pumped up.  Obviously bad form was the reason.  So, all I did on many exercises was drop 5 lbs, slow down the reps and use good form.  Tons better.

Anyway, this coming week will be interesting because I’m traveling for work, going to Chillicothe, Ohio to support our factory on some validation builds.  I am going to try to get a run in at least 3 times while I’m there.  I probably will not have time to find a gym and get a workout in.  Plus, *bonus,* I’m going to be on my feet almost all day all week most likely running from one end of the plant to the other.  My biggest challenge is going to be eating clean while the company is paying for good meals where I can order just about anything I want. 

So, with all that in mind, my goal for this week is to get 3 runs in, somehow (even if they’re short) and not gain any weight.  I will weigh in next on Sunday to give myself a day to drain out any excess water.
