I think I am on the right track these days. I have planned to do an activity everyday and I watch how much I eat. I have decided to play tennis at least 4 times a week and soccer the other 3 days. So far i am much more committed to tennis. I love the game and am really getting better. However, I dont play as well as my friend that I usually go with. But this is a good thing cause the competions helps me to stay motivated. I’m glad I found activities that I enjoy. Next week I’m going to try a diet. I’m thinking low carb.

I am makin baby steps right now to my ultimate goal of consistency. I want to be a gym rat and a thoughtful eatter. Those two goals same more and more difficult when there is a fried chicken or hamburger join on every corner. Its hard to find good tasting healthy take out in the Bahamas. Running is getting very boring and wakin up so early is harder and harder everytime. But I’m not giving up. I plan to start the gym as soon as I get some money but I will still have to do it in the mornig because my evenings are filled with late classes, soccer (which I’m startin on wednesday) and tennis. As for my diet I’m still undecided on what I should do about it. And last night I realized that I actually miss lifting. I did a class with my friend at a gym and felt really pumped afterward and wanted to lifted. The gym was about to close so I only did a set of incline bench press. I did eighteen but only with the bar. Its still an accomplishment for me. I should start my gym routine next week along with soccer and tennis and just try to cut back on calories until I find a better solution for my diet. South beach is not workin out because I’m on the go all day and dont have time to cook or tote food every where I go.

I was doin so good with the getting up in the morning last week. This week however I did not make it out at all. We jogged Monday evening and that was it. I have not been eating so well this week either. It’s like I just gave up. I do have financial problems that have been stressing me out but I really need to work hard to not let that get in the way of my progress. My new course of action for the up coming week is to maintain my morning workout and add an activity every evening. I plan to play tennis Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. And Soccer Monday Wednesday and Saturday. Wish me luck.

Hey all, I’m back on the horse again. Hopefully I will stick to it this time. I have been doing a run/jog/walking routine this week, which I think I will stick to for another month. I have started the south beach diet again but because of my tight budget my diet consists of boiled eggs, canned fish and lettuce. I am attempting to get use to wakening up so early in the morning but I love the way exercise feels. I get up at 4:30 every weekday morning and do one of two routines.
Today I went out to Goodman’s bay and did a warm up lap around the track, then a jogging lap, a sprint/walk lap and finally jogging/walking lap. Once I had completed my laps I used the park bench as a workstation to do some upper body strength training. I used the back of the bench to do push ups and the seat for dips, then I laid on the seat with my legs on the back of the bench for sit ups. On my first set I did 15 push-ups, 15 dips and 20 sit-ups. On the second set I did 10 push-ups, 10 dips and 7 sit-ups. Today was my first day trying this routine and I plan to do it Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
The second routine is at the paradise island bridges. Me and my friend Philly do two laps between the bridges, we walk up the bridge and jog down and to the next bridge then repeat the cycle throughout the two laps. So far we have done this routine three times this week. I plan to do this routine on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
And oh, I have been learning tennis for the past two months and surprising doing very well. I play tennis Mondays, Tuesdays and Sundays but have committed myself to help a friend of mine learn as well. This will be a good learning experience for me as a future physical educator. Our first practice session is tonight.

Thank god I did not gain weight. For a second there I was a little scard. I finally weight myself after a month and I am one pound lighter, that could have so easily gone the other way. This month is the month, I will make this work this time. Even if I’m not able to get to the gym I will commit myself to joggin even though I dont really like it.

I have not blogged in a while. Its mainly because I have nothing to report because I have been doin nothing. Sence my car broke down and I have not been goin to the gym, I have not really been able to replace that with another activity with the same intencity level. I made a plan to jog for about 40 mins which is about 8 laps around the track in my neighbourhood. However, I have no idea what the distance is around this track so I try to work on my time. I hate joggin alot so I have to really push myself to do it but I cant find another aerobic activty that is accessable to me due to my lack of transportation. Over the last month I have not had a consistent week where I have done all the days I set out to do. I hate that about me, I am too lazy thats my problem. LAZINESS!!!! I have to throw this attitude away but its much easier said than done. I really think I need to join something weather its a group of committed exercisers or a sport or dance group I just need to get more external motivation cause internal motivation is sooooooo not workin for me.
I mean I am starting soccer again tomorrow after a month of off season break, but its only three times per week but its something that I am committed to and starting to enjoy. However, this is not enough exercise for me though and I would still have to add something to it. I also did not stick to my diet, however I am more aware of my portions and number of times I eat on a daily basis.
I will make a pledge right now. This week is goin to be different I am goin to jog everyday from tuesday to sunday no matter what and I am going to start south beach again tomorrow. I will blog every evening and recap what I have done for the day.

What the hell is wrong with me? I just cant get into my program enough to see the results that I want. I know that if I actually follow the program that I have in mind I will get where I want to be. I know I need cardio for fat loss, I know I need resistence training for strenght and tightness and I know the kinda diet I need to follow to inhance my results. On top of all of this I am scared to death that I have gained some of my weight back cause my scale is broken and I have not been able to weigh myself sence my car has been off the road and I had to change my program because I am not able to get to the gym.
In place of goin to the gym I have started a joggin program along with calisthenic work outs. My calisthenic work outs are pretty simple. I start off with super setting with 3 sets push ups and tricep dips to fatigue. I also do 4 sets of 25 crunches (1st set crunches, 2nd set left oblique cruches, 3rd set right oblique crunches, 4th set leg raises). After push ups and crunches I do about 25 round house which include a squat with legs together, lunge out in front, open leg squat to the right side, lunge to the back, open leg squat to the left side, then repeat about 25 times or to fatigue). Even though I have planed to do this work out, I am still faced with the same problem that I had when I was goin to the gym. I really slack on my resistence training alot, every time I plan to do this work out weather in the gym or at home i always come up with an excuse to myself an always end up doin it once a week enstead of the three times I planned to do it.
As for the joggin program, I have been out every day this week except friday and saturday but I do plan to go out on the track on sunday. So far I have been running for time and distance. The first couple days I started off with 5 laps and by the end of the week I doubled that with 10 laps. However when I go out tomorrrow I plan to add some sprints to my routine if for nothing else but variety because joggin is very borin to me. As for my diet I have not been makin good decisions with the crap I have been puttin into my body. I have been eating mostly high fat foods with lots of calories. However my portion sizes have decreased a bit. Here in the Bahamas when eatin out, its pretty much the most accessible type of food and the food that I am use to. This however is no excuse because I can cook my meals. I work for my dad at his home office and have full access to the kitchen so there really is no excuse for not cooking my meals.
Typin all of this out is really helpful to me so I hope I do better in the up comin week.

This is the end of my first month and I must say I did not stick to my program. First off I was supposed to go to the gym at least 5 days per week, on adverage I think I only went three times. Once I was at the gym it was even more of a challenge to strength train, I only did this on adverage bout once per week. The gym that I signed up at does not have really good hours for aerobics so this is one of the reasons I was kinda off with it. Also my car has not been workin for the pass week and a half so that really but a wrench in my plans. However, I was still able to see results and I have lost about 5 pounds which is still good and much better than losing nothing or worst yet gaining weight.
I have decide to join a new gym with more aerobic and strengh class options. However, I will have to get my car fixed which has a head gasket problem so I dont know how long this will take. In the main time I plan to run at least 20 mins per day and do calisthenic workouts for strengh. As for my diet I will give south beach another chance, I will not fall off the wagon, no matter how slow weight loss is, I will give it at least a month.
I am also open to any pointers that will help me, I really need it, I feel like I movin around in the dark.

I started a diet 12 days ago and it has me feeling weak, on top of that I am not seein the results I expected. Yesterday I had to leave work without having lunch and I was so light headed that when I stopped to my daughter’s school to pick her up and noticed the cake sale I bought a piece just to stop the light headed feeling I had. The diet that I am on is low carb and the cake didnt make me feel any better. I eat some cold ceral with 2% milk when I got home and then some shimp pasta, needless to say none of that is allowed on my deit. Today I didnt eat low carb friendly food at all but I dont think that I ran out with calories. I think that I am going to start back on my diet first thing in the morning but I am really open for suggestion as to how I can improve this situation. I hate the light headed feeling I have all the time and its all for nothing because of lack of results. A typical day for me is eggs and lean meat for breakfast, peanut butter and celery for a snack, lean meat and veges for lunch, another low carb snack and then lean meat and veges for dinner. Some days I may have soup. In the last 12 days I have lost about 3 pounds but I lost that in the first two days and after that, nothing more. My plan is to add a serving of fat free milk, cereal and a fruit to my diet as of next week. If anyone has any suggestion about my diet plz let me know I would really appreciate it.
The other half of the battle is exercise. The weakness that is brought on by my diet does not help at all. I am supposed to go to the gym five days per week and do aerobics 4 days and weights 3 days however I have not gotten through a week where I have done this. My adverage week is probally one day weight lifting and three days aerobics, I know this is not enough and probally the reason my weight loss is stalling I guess I just need motivation. I will finish off this week at the top of my game and next week I will go the gym all five days. This is my goal. I am open to suggestion as to where I should go from here, I feel lost.
