52 days smoke free…
I have 52 days in being smoke free and it has been an EXTREMELY challenging period in my life. You wouldn’t think something so small like cigarettes could have such a huge impact on your life! I get terrible headaches and this emotional roller coaster has me thinking, "Am I being paranoid, or are people truly out to get me?" I well up with tears daily, sometimes several times a day, and even find myself sobbing uncontrollably. Working out has become a good release, but I hope I’m not replacing one vice for another. I probably picked the WORST time to bulk up from an emotional standpoint…..

You aren’t alone on this battle. 36 days. Everyone of them worth it. Indescribably tough and mentally taxing, but worth it. No longer do I have the mentality of "this is bad, I need to quit". It’s "It’s been over a month and I know I am doing the right thing". Hang in there, you know what you are doing is right.
Or just go buy a punching bag, and hit that until your knuckles bleed and you can’t hold a cigarette. That’s a possibility.

Hi Meegan,
Listen, as a reformed smoker myself, know in your heart that you are doing the right thing. Stay as busy as possible, and think about the positive changes that are happening in your life, inside and out. Research shows that lung tissue begins to regress to a healthy state 8 hours after your last cigarette and the longer you go without, the faster your lungs recover. 52 days is a monument. You are almost at pre-smoker lungs… Remember it. Congratulations!!!

Whenever I quit smoking. going to the gym was my release. Being in the Army i have to control my temper and actions, but after work (on a daily basis) i go and before i throw up some wieght i think about how bad I wanna punch … hmm.. the gyms is a great place release all of your aggression, because afterward your exhausted and your body is better than before. You can do it though! The smoking habit still lingers for me i’ve been clean for 2 years
