My Return

January 9, 2009

So many things have transpired since my last blog.   I have been out of the fitness loop and I have reached 182 lbs. : (  BUT please don’t count me out!!!    I am back and focused again, and more disciplined. I have 4 clients and counting. I have been blessed. Check on me every once in awhile and hold me accountable.  : )

I have also switched to a vegan diet.

No Run-Did Pout! : (

May 28, 2008

Unfortunately I was blocked from the run. I had swollen lymph nodes and they put me on 2 antibiotics and another one for headaches. They made me drowsey. I wanted to do the race and then take the meds when I was done, but my husband refused to let me go. (he was looking out for his wife) So I sat at home pouting. I’m planning to find another race and run still. They are still not sure what caused my nodes to swell, but they think it may have been a tick bite. I’m all better now and back in training. I appreciates the thoughts and concern from several of you. Focused still!!

Thanks 4 the Encouragement!

May 9, 2008

I run in 2 days! I have not been feeling well lately and have swollen lymph nodes for some reason and I am a little nervous about it. (My mom passed from cancer at age 45) I’ll be happy when test results come back telling me something, ANYTHING.   Anyway, I have not been training consistantly but refuse to back out of the race. There have been several of you who have been very encouraging to me. Thank-You!! Sometimes all I need is a few words of encouragement. Happy Mother’s Day to all of my fellow mothers!! God bless!

Training for a 5K!

March 31, 2008

OK, I am trying to convince myself that I like to run. My daughter and I have registered for a 5K run. Hopefully this training will help kick off some more of this stubborn fat. I have found my body responds more to how I eat and weight training than how much cardio I do, so I dont know, but we’ll see. By Mother’s Day I will post some more pics. Hopefully we will see a significant change.

Moving Right Along

March 4, 2008

My drastic diet change is really doing well for me. I’m now at 175.  It requires more preperation, and slow shopping (checking ingredients), but I feel better. Not so sluggish. Since I have not had a consistant work out week these past 2 weeks, (sick kids), I was scared I’d go backwards in weight, but because of my low fat and low sugar intake I still lost 3 lbs. That’s not bad. Hopefully I can get back on track soon. (my kids got me sick now). Oh Well!

I’m entering a 5K run as a fundraiser and for additional motivation to keep training. I may not come across first, but I’ll make sure I’m not last. It will look a little bad coming in behind some elderly person using their cane. LOL : ) We’ll see how this goes.

Finally Got Off That 180!!

February 22, 2008

Today I weighed in at 178. I thought I’d never get unstuck. I feel good about my little 2 lbs. I think it’s mostly the diet.  Not looking back……..moving forward.

Vegan Style

January 30, 2008

Yesterday I began a vegan diet. (no animal or animal-by products) I’ve done this before for 30 days and did quite well with weight loss (17 lbs) , energy,  and feeling good overall, BUT I wasn’t training then, so now I have to be more careful about getting my protein. I’m doing more beans, protein shakes, tofu, and other non-animal proteins. We’ll see how it goes.

Back on Track

January 11, 2008

I reached my goal, and I am so thrilled!!  It took alot of dedication and discipline. I had to take myself back to what I learned in Basic Training when I first joined the Army. That was over 17 yrs ago, so I had to really reach back. LOL  I feel like I’m back on a roll now, and I feel alot better about myself. I also appreciate the motivation I received from others on this site.  I did cardio twice a day most days, and was more strict with my diet. I refuse to go backwards again.

My new goal is to drop 2 more lbs by the 18th of Jan. This fat is still hiding the muscles I’ve been working so hard on. This fat is leaving my body screaming and kicking, but I’m fighting back and will come out the winner. : )

In a Funk

January 2, 2008

I’m at 185 lbs. (+4 lbs)  I have to do better than this! I am shifting gears. I will be back at 181 by 1-11-08. I will set weekly goals and keep better track of my eating habits.
